Had a buyer last night buy a card from me on eBay - he paid immediately and then sent a message saying he wanted to cancel the transaction. I didn't see the cancellation notice this morning and printed the label.
I just a got a testy message asking why I was going forward with the transaction when he asked to cancel.
How can I proceed after I've paid for the label. What are the appropriate steps?
His response for the cancel was...
"I was on the wrong listing and had a lot going on in that moment.
I’m really very sorry for the mishap."
I dont want to out this dude, just want the situation to go away and re-list the card.

You can cancel the eBay label and after about 5 days, once they determine that the label has not been used, you will be credited back your label fees.

Just cancel, apologize that you missed the message and cancel the label.

I cant cancel the transaction now though since I already printed the label. Is there another area I need to go to cancel?

Why wouldn't you want to tell the forum who this guy is so that we never have to deal with him? What if he's done this before? Even if he was "on the wrong listing" you still have to place a bid and then confirm that bid before the sale is committed to. Then he pays for it and THEN realizes that it was the wrong listing? I highly doubt that this was somehow a mistake. Bidder's remorse sounds more like it.

Can you do it in paypal vs ebay? I'm assuming you'll need to go there to cancel the paypal label. That might trigger something inside of ebay to allow the canceled transaction.
But I'm with the other guys...I'd appolgize to him, say you didnt see the messages, and will work with him to get it canceled and his payments back.

You refund the buyer then you should be able to send a cancellation

I'm stuck and I've tried everything. I've canceled the USPS shipping label, refunded the buyer, but eBay still wont let me cancel the transaction since I overrode his cancel request with creating the shipping label.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? What's my next step? Resolution center says I cant open a case because it's too soon.
This is so annoying. Grrrrrrrrr.
Why cant people just commit to buying something when they push buy it now. I should have just shipped the item and made him return it.

Then you would have an opened case defect on you and possibly be out the shipping both ways. You are likely going to have to call ebay and they should be able to credit your listing fees
