What was the demand like with FOTL DK? I see that the guarantee was a purple auto to 20 or less. Here it's an auto to 25 AND a cracked ice parallel to either 10 or 7. (The email says 10, the product listing says 7). Add in this being the "chrome" product and I think this flies.

This was a legit rush. After Elite and Spectra, this time the checkout was bogging down. I never saw the confirmation screen, but my order history has 2 pending orders (I refreshed and hit confirm again). I may or may not have gotten 8. I won't be upset if I don't but man the checkout slow down was a sign of many people clicking.

At least they're available to buy at the listed time. I remember when I went after FOTL Prizm basketball how messed up that was. Got like 9 boxes but got some two days after I placed order, lots of people's were canceled, there is a laundry list of problems that went on. This one at least it was posted at correct time, showed sold out when it did, and people know if they got them. I agree with you.

There were 1,225 boxes available. 175 cracked ice parallels x 7 of each = 1,225. That should put the autograph checklist at 49 subjects for rookies/prospects.

Not a good comparison. The only bonus in Optic was the Prizm /13. This has a cracked ice /7 AND a black auto /25. Even if you factor in the unlicensed element, that black auto adds a whole new dimension to this release.

Agreed. Basketball definitely has more hobby appeal in general, but I think these will do really well, especially if the auto checklist is strong.

Cracked ice is so much better than the purple stars...even if the cracked ice was /13 as well. Then there's the black auto /25.

Should be an interesting product for sure. Looking forward to seeing the box breaks

But I do agree with those who have alluded to the fact that the whole FOTL program has grown tremendously in popularity. Prizm Basketball should be interesting. And if you all remember, 2017 FOTL Prizm Football was available for weeks after release. I don’t think that will be the case this year.

I think it's a combination of wishful thinking, and a "guaranteed" card /7 and autograph /25. That would almost be like hitting a red parallel in Chrome and an Orange auto in every box.

You can't compare two horrible high end products to lower end stuff. Diamond Kings is a more accurate comparison. Cost at release was $72, boxes on eBay were around $125. That's a 74% gross ROI. After fees and shipping flippers were netting right around 40%. And that's another example of a weak FOTL release where the bonus was just a non-auto framed parallel. When people start seeing the box breaks of this stuff they will pay far more than they did for DK. Even regular DK is still selling above cost on Blowout. Optic should blow that one out of the water.

Seriously. Last year's optic still sells for around $115-$120. Obviously that has Judge/Bellinger rookie chasing but the market on Bellinger has settled but that's just a regular optic product without any guaranteed lower numbered hits.

They were purchased through Panini's store. It is their First Off the Line product line that lets people buy their boxes with exclusive hits at a cheaper price than retail. They often sell out extremely fast, and basketball is always hot. I got a NT FOTL basketball box for $500 and flipped it for $1400 that same day. That is how hot some of these products are right away.

$150 is still a $45 profit after all fees so that's not a bad ROI for a $85 investment. I think it will be worth more once the checklist is released and everybody knows what auto's are included. Guaranteed prospect or rookie auto numbered to 25 per box is a no brainer at $85 IMO.
