So first year helping take over a poor team, actually just missed playoffs as a few players outplayed (did trade a lot for picks have 2 first 3 second 2 3rd and 2 4th round picks next year in minor league draft)
Can keep 8 major league players (keep all minor league players until 130 ab/50ip then they go into the pool of keeper selections) 260 draft budget salary is same up to 3rd year and after year 3 can lock up to 5 additional years or just keep but increments go up more and more.
No doubt keepers IMO
Andrew Benintendi 2 - will be K2
Christian Yelich - 17 k6/8 will go to 22,27 next 2 years but have to keep.
Miguel Andujar 5 - will be first year being kept
Jack Flaherty - 2 will be first year being kept
Carlos Rodon - 5 will be first year being kept
Jose Martinez - 3 will be first year being kept
then have to pick between 2 of the below
Edguardo Rodriguez - 5 will be first year being kept
Michael Fulmer - 12 will be first year being kept
Nate Eovaldi - 5 will be first year being kept
Dylan Bundy - 2 Would be 3rd year being kept so last year at low price
Bryon Buxon - 2 will be 3rd year being kept
David Dahl - 2 will be 3rd year being kept
Garrett Hampsen - 5 will be first year being kept (and would have to stay on ML roster)
Ahmed Rosario - 12 will be first year being kept
Miguel Sano - would be 4th year being kept and would be 25 (likely moving on)
Billy Hamilton -21 would be second year being kept
Leaning towards Rodriguez and Bundy for the final 2 but curious to think what others think. Keeping Hampsen is tempting. Pretty sure Dahl, Sano, Hamilton would be terrible picks but throwing them in just to see if anyone thinks differently.
Will also have some nice prospects going to next year with Willie Calhoun being the best hitter and Brent Honeywell best pitcher but tons of depth and tons of specs being added on with 5 of the first 32 picks.
