Question about 2001 Finest Brees Rookies

How were the 2001 Finest Drew Brees distributed?

Were they graded and then put into packs?

Were all 1000 of them graded by PSA

Any help would be appreciated.

I pulled a Tomlinson PSA Gem 10 from a box topper back in the day. It was just a standard PSA case. Unlike what BGS did for Playoff on their 2000 Preferred line, where they slabbed the card AND had a line that said 1 of 300 graded on a card numbered to 1,000.

Which added to the fact that it was a little bit more rare.

Since I also later pulled another Tomilinson from 2001 Finest /1000 ungraded. It is safe to say that not all 1,000 got slabbed.

If I am not mistaken, each box had 1 PSA graded RC as the topper and 2 ungraded RC's. And all RC's came out of the box as either graded or ungraded. It is safe to assume that a third of the print run was slabbed by Topps.

But it wont make much of a difference in price. If you pulled a PSA version or if you later bought one that someone submitted. Since the case did not have anything special to it. And the cards are 100% the exact same anyway.
