Showoff a card from your PC that you have rarely seen elsewhere

I'm not talking 1/1's or even stuff /10 or less. I'm more so talking about cards that were hard to pull inserts or stuff with print runs big enough that you should see more of them out there but don't for some reason. I've got a couple cards in my PC that aren't SUPER rare based on print run but I have hardly ever seen then posted anywhere else. I'm talking eBay, COMC, here on BO, anywhere. Makes me wonder how many of them are stashed away in PCs or are still sitting in packs/boxes/cases somewhere totally unearthed. I'll post a couple I've got that got me thinking about this topic...

First, is this Stoudamire. Cards from this set are incredibly tough to find these days. It's an 18 card set and the cards were really tough pulls at 1:180 packs. They're also extremely condition sensitive, so finding one with decent corners & edges is nearly impossible. I've seen 2 copies of the Stoudamire since like 2016. I ended up owning both at one point and have since sold one. The Jordan from this set sells upwards of $200-300, while most of the others go anywhere from $10-50. A lot of collectors who weren't in the hobby back in the mid-to-late 90's don't even know about these but for those of us who do they're a hidden treasure.

The other card that really got me thinking about this topic is the one below. It's got a print run of /40 but I swear I've only ever seen 2-3 of them pop up. I was looking for one for a loooong time and then finally saw this one on eBay about a year ago and snatched it up at right around $20. It's one of Artest's very few autos from his time with the Pacers. He has 7 total different autograph cards in a Pacers jersey. Between those 7 cards there are 6 cards that are serial numbered to a total of 151 copies of those signed cards and they're all from 2005-06 product releases and then there is one card that doesn't have a stated print run. It's also a rookie year auto for Granger and Sarunas. My card plus the 4 listed on Worthpoint (dating back to 2006) make for 5 confirmed sightings out of the 40 in the print run. There are 2 in BGS' pop report (a 9 and a 9.5 both graded back in 2006). So, either a bunch of these are still in unopened products or people have stashed them away/forgot about them.

That Westbrook is a beauty. That year of products is near and dear to my heart because that's when I first got HEAVY into my first player collection (Brandon Rush) so I'm very familiar with all of those releases like Ultimate that year that had just BEAUTIFUL designs and the print runs were low without being impossible. The one from that year that for some reason has always stuck out in my mind as being the sort of set that you hardly ever see pop up is the Exquisite Year One autos. They featured that year's rookie class and were /10. I had the Rush back then and I only ever saw 1 other copy of it. You still don't see cards from that set pop up too often. For example, there is only 1 (Joe Alexander) from the set currently listed on eBay and none in the sold listings. The design is so classy looking. Feels like you should have it on display with some leather hardbound books or something.

If anyone out there has a copy of the Brandon Rush I'd love to add that one back to my collection.

I use to only focus on only collecting amare rookie stuff. Anyways but since coming back around 2 months ago i have come across 2 of these. One just popped up so looking to upgrade this one. This card pretty much never shows up, although there is a copy that showed up multiple times recently (same card) from a Japanese seller and it has been sold and relisted sold and relisted sold and relisted multiple times for some reason. Aside from that, I have never seen one listed for sale anywhere in the past 5+ years, ever.

Per Leximo, these were pulled from boxes of Japanese Collector's Choice and included only three players in the set, Kemp, Penny and Jordan. These were the Big 3 for U.D. back in those days. The Japanese international variants over all are my favorites because of the unique text.

I have tons of rare Darrell Armstrong's, but this one was on my radar for years. Every once in a while an MJ, or Kobe gold parallel would pop up, but Darrell being more obscure, I never thought one would ever pop up. There's maybe 1 or 2 of these on EBay every once in a while. Here are two unnumbered Rodman’s that I haven’t seen very often. I would love to find an artifacts with a better signature to replace this one. The Spx is also rare. I picked mine up in 2014 and haven’t seen another since. I couldn’t find anything for either of them on worthpoint.

man there is a lot of good stuff in here that just flat out NEVER pops up. Those 00-01 Fleer stickers are crazy hard to find, I had NO idea they numbered those SOTT autos from 99-00, and I love those all-star panini autos, I went hard after a couple Mitch Richmonds back in the day (/6) but never came close, I think the two that ended both went over $200.

The early 1990s boom of unique and odd sets that produced just about every imaginable trading card set continues with this 1994 Caterpillar Earthmovers Series II set. That's right, we have a trading card set devoted to construction equipment....more specifically, Caterpillar construction equipment. Cue Tim "The Toolman" Taylor....UUUUHHHG, UUUHHHG. This is raw power packed in a 10-card metallic wrapper. More importantly are the chances for a Bob Feller or Karl Malone autograph. Why are they included you ask? Because Karl owns/owned a trucking company with tractors that were powered by Caterpillar engines. And Bob....well he owns a bunch of vintage Caterpillar farm equipment. Makes sense since this was the early 1990s and the Wild West of insert sets and anything goes. According to The Trading Card Database, this set has 200 base cards in it with the Chromium Card inserts and 2 autographs. Grab your thermos of coffee and lunch pail, let's wreck this pack...."

The early 1990s boom of unique and odd sets that produced just about every imaginable trading card set continues with this 1994 Caterpillar Earthmovers Series II set. That's right, we have a trading card set devoted to construction equipment....more specifically, Caterpillar construction equipment. Cue Tim "The Toolman" Taylor....UUUUHHHG, UUUHHHG. This is raw power packed in a 10-card metallic wrapper. More importantly are the chances for a Bob Feller or Karl Malone autograph. Why are they included you ask? Because Karl owns/owned a trucking company with tractors that were powered by Caterpillar engines. And Bob....well he owns a bunch of vintage Caterpillar farm equipment. Makes sense since this was the early 1990s and the Wild West of insert sets and anything goes. According to The Trading Card Database, this set has 200 base cards in it with the Chromium Card inserts and 2 autographs. Grab your thermos of coffee and lunch pail, let's wreck this pack...."

I looked for the Harrison Barnes Blue Auto for a couple years. It was only numbered to 5 though but wouldnt you know it, two showed up in the same week, missed out on both and haven't seen one since. It's the only Auto I'm missing from the rainbow besides the Black.

As an Iverson collector this is the only one I’ve seen as well. To go off that his 2001 Upper Deck Game Jersey Patch I have only seen two copies of before despite being unnumbered. One of my favorites I have in my collection

Most I see on eBay are the already redeemed sets, or the more common silver versions of this. I only see 1 or 2 on eBay at any given time and maybe just 1 or 2 in comc too.

I'd imagine this came from a lower end product, Turkey Red or '52 Style are the only ones that come to mind but I don't recall any oddball inserts being packed out in either.

When Lebron entered the league, I went crazy trying to pull one of his autos - I would've been happy with any with Jordan & Kobe being nice consolation prizes.

Between 03-04 through 08-09 I spent several 10's of thousands, maybe $125K+ on boxes & already opened cases at my LCS and never pulled a single auto of any of them. I don't have any proof they were cherry picked but my LCS owner always had several in his showcase and his focus was solely on bookmaking & placing bets, never once did I witness him open a pack in the shop; I opened everything in store and was impressed with how he could remember every significant hit I'd pulled because I sure couldn't... probably because those few surprises caught him off guard and he wasn't expecting anything else to come from the case. Nonetheless, I was naïve and trusting since he'd been in business for a long time and was the only LCS in the area. I didn't use the internet much back then and ebay was still light years in the future for me. Also didn't use plastic so all my purchases were in cash/check and he'd cut me a break by not taxing the sale, that was the only deals he'd give me but he had his own motives - he never rang up the sales or recorded them and would use my money to fund his rent & bets. Haven't been back there since the early part of 2012.

Finally ended buying a Lebron on card auto 3.5 years ago and had a Jordan lined up shortly after but it got lost in the mail and never found it's way to me.

I found a Jordan UDA signed basketball from his Flight Academy but still have no on card auto of him or Kobe. One day I'll have a Kobe in the collection.

I think it's pretty cool, personally. Wouldn't mind owning one myself but I doubt they hold a ton of value. A Yao recently sold for $16 and a Kobe sold for $100 back in June. There are copies of Wade ($40) and McGrady($59) sitting on ebay right now going unsold. Seems like one of those things that while technically somewhat rare (being /100) just doesn't have a ton of demand.

I just remembered a few cards in my Arizona PC that fit the description for this thread.

I think these might have been case hits, and had a pretty decent size checklist. So, the odds of any particular player popping up in the secondary market aren't usually good with those factors coming into play. There are currently 2 of these listed on eBay, and I've got this one. Those are the only 3 copies I've ever seen. There were also autographed copies with various print runs. Gordon's auto'd version was /5. Jordan's was /3.

It's a nice trophy piece but I still want an on card auto, I've got my sights set on one specific card now #/15 that'll complete a set but have never seen one for sale. Yeah, you told me a bit about the ball, but I don't recall getting all the particulars - I think that you were on your way to get it when you wrote. And I recall the set you're going for - I'm surprised and disappointed that you haven't gotten the Jordan in your price range since then.

Very few have anything of the Rev - that's his only pro card, I believe (other than variations of the same card). Starter on the Illinois basketball team that made it to the title game in 2005. The other four starters have much better options available (including Exquisite rookies), but you need to include that eyesore to round out the starting five. The shame of my collection, haha.

That's amazing an entire starting 5 not from Duke, Kentucky or Carolina all made it to the next level - however short lived some of their careers were.

My home team has only put 7 players into the league over 50 years with only 3 of them having careers lasting more than 5 years... two of them being in the early '70s. Although they were local heroes, it was short lived since all were JC transfers with very little better options to choose from.

I was taking a picture of some of my OneTouch Kobes, and I thought of this thread. Here are two that you just do not see.

2000-01 Topps Chrome Hobby Masters Refractor 1:602 (almost a tough as Apparitions Refractor) There have only been 4 on eBay in the past 5 years.
2001-02 Fleer Maximum Maximum Performance /100. Until a recent sale, I had not seen one in years except for the one I bought.

^^^ Beautiful Kobe cards. Those Hobby Masters refractors are insanely tough to track down. For those unaware, they were a Hobby only insert. 10 card set, and they were 1:602 Hobby packs. So odds of pulling a specific player were REALLY tough.

1968 Mira Tuttosport Campionissimi
1968 Mira Tuttosport Regalo (lottery)

I'm sure some most of you vintage collectors know about this 1968 Mira Tuttosport set, most appreciated for the Lew Alcindor XRC (which deserves a spot on this thread too). To me, the real highlight is the Wilt Chamberlain #488. It is Wilt's only card where he's pictured in the iconic Harlem Globetrotters gear. Chamberlain left Kansas to join the Globetrotters after 3 years of being beat-up, triple and quadruple-teamed, and his opponents playing freeze-ball against him. Chamberlain played under contract with the Globetrotters for one year before joining the NBA, but would frequently re-join the Globetrotters during the NBA off-season over the following years of his career.

This multi-sport set was short-printed in Italy on thin card stock. When found at all these are almost always in poor condition. Over the last 7 years, I've only seen 3 of these on eBay (2 Campionissimi, 1 Regalo, and obviously I purchased one of each). I've owned both of these for several years, but only recently got the Regalo graded. The Pop report on these cards are ridiculous: 9 graded copies of the Campionissimi and 3 graded copies of the Regalo exist, all graded by PSA.

The insane rarity of these, it being in Wilt's playing career, and it being the only card of him the Globetrotters uniform makes this a very special card.

I know it’s football but this is one of my favorite/most obscure cards I own, and it follows the thread theme. I challenge anyone to locate another copy, good luck. Anyway, this card has no parallels and was inserted into 2003 Topps Chrome hobby at a rate of 1:28,400 packs, or nearly one in 111 cases. I’ve never seen another one other than pictures of one in a Beckett price guide around time of that sets release.

I’ve posted it here on the boards several times, mostly in hopes of finding someone else who has one, or maybe someone who pulled one. But nothing. Saw a picture of one of these way back in the day, like I had mentioned, wanted one, and of course never saw one and basically forgot the card existed for years. Saw this copy FS on here 4-5 years ago and worked out a deal for it and a few other cards as fast as I could.

I thought about it for a minute and tried to think or a card that there are a bunch (at least 25) that you just never see and I came up with this one.

Although there's 50, I don't know where a single other copy is. Anyone else have one here or know someone who has one?
