Stuff that sold out the previous month appears eligible for relisting with quantity available. So I relist it, and people buy it. I cannot supply the item, so I have to refund. Transaction defects for me! Nice job, eBay - going to make it really easy to cancel my store subscription.

Yeah I've had this also... caught it before it was a problem.
My new favorite from last month... someone bought 20 cards from a bulk listing, got them and decided to return immediately. Instead of 1 return against me it counted as 20 separate returns. That's just stupid

You need to list as 'Good 'Til Cancelled' or you have to manually remove each sold item when relisting.

The trouble is that it's not consistent - some listing update the quantities accurately. :(

No its not, and sometimes the system will auto relist items that were ended due to quantities being sold out. They will relist at full inventory.

Variation listings will not update quantities or remove sold items, single listings with a quantity will update the quantities properly. That has been my own experience, so far...
