Worked with Lebron once. The thing I remember most is how shameless he was about farting in front of other people. Like he'd just lift a leg and let one rip like it was nothing.

The other thing I remember is at one point the director was trying to elicit a fearful response from him and said, "okay now pretend you've just seen a lion, how would you react?" and Lebron smiles and does a hugging motion, saying something like "I'd hug him because we're equals." Thought that was pretty funny.

Unfortunately I've only managed to be in the same building as Kobe and LeBron.

I have a friends who's a swimmer for Aus and she has some interesting stories about Kobe and Bron from the Olympics.

I've met LeBron a couple time through the years. He lives 10 mins from me. I've seen him out and mostly just polite stuff wish him well etc... mostly neighborhood stuff. I did talk to him once a little more at length and also friends with one of his neighbors, he's a great dad and real nice person. He does a ton for the City of Akron and those that live in it. I will say that everytime I see him out over the last few years he always has his children with him and always making time for them. And yes he's very down to earth and a regular person like the rest of us......we all laugh at farts.

I went to Laney High School a few years after Jordan went pro. He bought the team shoes every season and they had a nice little memorabilia area set up from his early years. Never met him ,but drove by his family's house every morning on the way to school. Basketball goal in his driveway he practiced on was still there. PE coach that cut him was still there lol

A team GB player has been down at the pickup game I play in a few times. I asked him about the GB vs USA exhibition match before the London 2012 Olympics as I was in the stands and he played.

After the game both teams went to a club as some of the GB and USA players knew each other from college.

He said he stood there with his pint of lager while some of the most beautiful women he's ever seen were hanging around the USA players, Lebron took over the DJ booth to play his own music and the only person not there was Kobe as he stayed in the arena alone to practice. I said sounds about right!

I’ve said it many times. Enough to be banned but....I’ll say it one more time. Karl Malone is a pedophile. The best you can say bout him is that he’s a dead beat dad. But the truth is that’s he’s a pedophile. He’s incredibly lucky he didn’t start his career 20 years later. #metoo

Just wondering if anyone in here has been fortunate enough to meet these guys ?

I used to be a student manager for the UCF Basketball team when his son's Marcus and Jeff played for them. He came and watched practice a couple of times a year and we'd always line up and get to say hello.

Always had encouraging words for us and I was in over my head each time. Sometimes he would bring Ahmad Rashad and they would kick it in the coaches office - good ole days

Won a cool Celtics package a few years back. Had dinner with Jared Sullinger one night, Satch Sanders the next, courtside seats, locker room tour etc..

Sully was cool. He ordered the ribeye. The waitress asked if he wanted bone-in or boneless. He said both. She giggled. He said he was serious. He ate both and half my wife's filet.

Satch Sanders is one of the funniest old dudes I've ever met.

Not Lebron or MJ, but kinda cool...

I have never met the big 3 in the title. But I have met Magic Johnson at an event in San Francisco last year. Unfortunately I did not get an autograph, but it was still cool being in the same room as one of the GOAT's. Being from the Bay Area, I have met several Warriors on many occasions. If you are from the Bay or are a grapher, you probably know that the Warriors from top to bottom are one of the best signing teams in the NBA, even with all their success. Like someone mentioned before, Steph Curry is hands down the most humble and nicest superstar signer you'll ever meet. He will sign 90% of the time, whether it's pregame or events. Klay and KD are good signers too. I do go to a couple games and signing events each year and here's a couple of my in person autos I've accumulated from the Warriors in the past few years.

Now as it relates to the topic in the title. I think everyone knows that LeBron has always been a tough in person graph, throughout his career he has never been a great signer unless you're a very lucky kid. I've been on the Instagram community for years and I don't recall the last time I've seen a grapher on Instagram ever getting LeBron in person. Based on what I've seen lately, Kobe has actually become a great retirement signer, way better than his playing days. I have seen a good amount of graphers in LA and NY get Kobe on my timeline in recent months. It's also cool to see that MJ is not an "impossible" graph like LeBron is. It's definitely tough now that MJ does not do his golf tournaments anymore, which is where he would have usually signed. But I've still seen some of the graphing pros get him in the right place at the right time in the past few years. Here's some Instagram screenshots of some of the well known graphers successes on MJ and Kobe from the past 2 years. I will put their usernames if you want to scroll through the insane amount of graphs they get on IG. (These items are NOT MINE).

I've met five/six NBA players while they were in the NBA:

1. Danny Granger - right after winning gold in the FIBA championship - We talked a lot about how much that gold meant to him and representing the USA. Very nice guy. Even bought me a couple drinks, though I offered to grab a round, he told me not to worry about it.

2. Mike Bibby & Matt Barnes - 2004/05 season when they played for the Kings - With my two roommates and the girl I was dating at the time, at a strip club. Bibby kept buying her drinks all night and telling me I was a lucky guy. Cheapest trip to the strip club ever for me! Twas a good night.

3. Dexter Pittman - right after he was drafted - thought he was the man. Wasn't very polite to those around him...though, I did not interact with him more than the official head nod of acknowledgment.

4. Gary Payton - my bachelor party in Vegas - strip club - Gary was wearing basketball shorts and a Nike t-shirt while everyone else was dressed up, sweating like they were dancing to the oldies with Richard Simmons. Standing at the bar and one of the ladies of the evening asked me to go back to the private area. I said no thank you (crazy expensive) and she got a bit upset with me and walked off. GP was about 3 feet away and laughed. Said, "You gotta watch them angry ones" or something close to that. He was surrounded by a bunch of people so I didn't want to bug him.

5. Reggie Miller - I was a 8 or 9 and we got to play on Market Square Arena floor before their game with the Suns that night. We got done and I was putting on my sweatpants and Reggie and some other guys came out to shoot. Reggie said hi to me and I froze. I couldn't say anything. My dad spoke up for me though. Reggie gave me his autograph and told me to have a fun night. I still didn't respond. I remember thinking he was so huge. I had never seen an NBA player up close and Reggie was my idol, so that made him seem even bigger.

So .... like some years ago....Kobe came to Germany for a special medical threatment..... there is something like a Cold Chamber Threatment which has only be given like that in China and somewhere nearby me.., Germany .... to be exact, the Soccer Stadium of a world known german soccer club.

It was a "Top Secret" thing since nobody knew that he was coming.
I am a very lucky guy that a good friend of mine, who collects trading cards too, actually works in that building at a higher position and it was so top secret that they received the information about Kobes coming just 2 hours before his arrival..... only 9 people received the information and my friend was one of them.
Since my friend knows about me and that I am a huge Kobe fan he gave me a call and told me to come to the stadium immediately .... because Kobe was there!!!
Thats been a No Brainer!! I have been at work but gotta make priorities so i have been gone!
I could not believe it! I left the work and my friend told everybody that I am a "apprentice" , that he needs to show me something important so he pushed me through every control like that.

He has been driven with a black shuttle into that basement garage so that nobody sees him ....
After my friend put me into that building somehow, we went straight to the elevator ... at the moment he is at the Gym training out, so that was the place to go!
We needed to go to that Top Floor, but its beeing denied to normal guys- luckily my friend had the access key to drive up there !
As we drove higher and higher i ve heard a very loud music playin ...

Jay z & kanye west "watch the throne"

I knew i will see Kobe in the next seconds!
Doors are opening....

A guy, he belonged to the Bayer Squad and runs the Gym Department comes right to us and saw my friend!
He told him "what are you doing here!! ...and who is that?"
....he pointed to me ....
He said him he just want to look up something with his "apprentice" and be gone again.
He has been clearly pissed - since NOBODY has been allowed...
Well- as they are speaking there has been a big black guy which walked past me on the left side.... i was like shaking and when i looked up in slowmotion i saw ...... Not Kobe!
Just one of his friends! There were like 4!
Well, my friend is at a higher level there and still wanted to go on "to look" something up.
While standing there , Kobe "private trainer" saw my friend ... !
Its been the 2nd time kobe was there and kobe trainer even remembered the name of my friend when he came to say Hi!
As that gym department guy saw that kobes trainer knows my friend he has been pissed cause there has been NOTHING he could do now!
So that department guy left and we had a moment to be with kobes coach alone.... while that happened Kobe passed by!! Like 1 metre away from me! He has been focused AF !! But of course, its Kobe!!! Been in shook, but well ...so, while we are stading there, my friend said to that trainer:

"LOOK, this is Kiki - he is the biggest kobe fan and he has the biggest Kobe trading card collection" and he went on if there is a possibilty to make a pic later or to get something signed.

Well, that guy was cool about it since he knew my friend (but again - NOBODY has been allowed to be there , especially no kobe fans!!) But he also told us, that he cannot do plans in taking pictures and stuff!
He told us there is no problem to get stuff signed afterwards, but on all other issues it has to come by kobe.

Well- i totally understood where i have been at the moment ... at a holy field where a guy like kobe had a private gym session with his guys, hearing their music and stuff .... and i knew that i wasnt even allowed to be in that building at all! .... but i have been blessed to be there!

I did not wanted to disturb anybody and i just wanted to let them do what they do- so we have told his trainer that we will be gone again.

We left down again a we have left him some things to be signed.
Well, we have waited 2 or 3 hours in the 1st floor of the stadium .... like almost nobody has been there - we did not wanted to go out again and we also did not wanted to be with those unfriendly security guys in the basement ...well, after some time the elevator has been moving and you could hear many guys talking in it... kobe and his crew.... they went straight to that basement!

After they were gone- we went to that elevator and UP again .... my pieces were all put on that table by the trainer to be signed and every peace has been signed!!
That departmenr guy has been more chilled now so my friend and him had a lil talk about other issues - as we picked up the things he mentioned that kobe looked a longer time on one piece (maybe read it??)
And that piece has been our 1st suppercollector article from 2007 !!

So my friend has met Kobe 3 times there already and he is very very friendly in person and I would have loved to talk with him there! I am also pretty sure that he would not decline any picture askings as my friend and other crew members have pics with him and almost all of them got those pics signed in the 2nd or 3rd meetings!

I have been afraid for my friend and hoped that he will not get any problems foe putting me in like that but its been all good.
Did not acted like a fan but more like an employee – but truly blessed to have been there!

Anyone else go to this in LA? Huge thumbs up to Kobe! He pre-signed the books and did a photo-op with everyone. Impressed he actually spent a decent amount of time with everyone too.. and even stayed longer to accommodate a few stand-bys. I barely made the cut-off.. (only 400 or so and I was #391).. whew! Was a super long day of waiting, get thru the lines, etc, but well worth the wait. Not bad for $30 =].

I met Jordan a handful of times when he was at UNC, I was a young kid and my dad worked there. MJ even challenged me to a game of Ms Pacman once (I don't recall who won). I got a ball signed by him and the whole 82 team. I thought it was so cool, and wanted to be like them so much that I practiced in our driveway every day....with that ball. damnit.

My goodness. I wonder if Kobe will be doing more signings for his book as well, or at least pre-autograph some for sale nationwide.

I've met five/six NBA players while they were in the NBA:

Haha this reminded me of a conversation I had with a security guard at the MGM grand I’m Vegas. I was wearing a pair of somewhat rare Jordan 3 Air Force one fusions and the security stopped me to ask about my shoes. We enviably started talking about ball and he told me GP has a place in Vegas and frequents the grand. I guess he’s always drunk and often cussing people out lol. Apparently he like to pull the “do you know who I am card” very often haha

Same trip I guess I missed Maurice Taylor at the Nike store at Caesar’s place by 2-3 mins and KG was at the adidas store on the strip 2-3 days before I was there as well

Meet Isiah Thomas and Doug Christie at a raptors camp

Meet Kareem Abdul jabbar jr. at a bar in Saskatoon haha asked him about his dad and his friendship with Bruce lee

Met Kobe once when they were in San Antonio in 2004. I used to print the large format banners that went into the ATT Center (used to be called the SBC Center). I happen to wear my first ever Kobe shoes — the 2K5. It was pretty early in the afternoon and saw him walking to do some shooting. I went over, took my shoe off, and had him sign as we spoke for a bit. Security then told me I broke protocol and that I would be reprimanded.

Breaking protocol part 2:
Met him during his second year. Signed a 16 x 20 pic for me which I then sent to GAI when they were a thing.

So .... like some years ago....Kobe came to Germany for a special medical threatment..... there is something like a Cold Chamber Threatment which has only be given like that in China and somewhere nearby me.., Germany .... to be exact, the Soccer Stadium of a world known german soccer club.

I met Kobe a few times during his rookie season when the jazz played the lakers in the playoffs. Have a couple of cool stories. He was super cool at that point.

I meet him in 2009, not so cool at that point. Ran into him at a blockbuster and there was nowhere else there so it wasn’t a big scene. They happened to be playing the clippers that night and this was the early afternoon so I said, “hey Kobe, you looking forward to playing the Clippers tonight, battle for Los Angeles? He then said “yeah, right.” To which I said, “well I am a Clippers fan, good luck tonight.” He just started laughing in my face and walked away. He really seemed like a jerk, lol, and most other people I have heard that talked to him said he was as well.

Unfortunately for some of the greatest athletes, I think part of how they get so good is they care just about their sport and what helps them get their goals.

I saw Kobe play in a HS tourney. Sadly before my photography career.

Closest I got to greatness was sharing beers with Ric Flair in a hole in the wall bar.

Also, met former Miss USA Chelsea Cooley.

Got a call from a photog that I had helped a few times. Got a super secret call... "can you be here tommorrow?"

I arrive to an empty facility... and here the wedding party approaches. Photog mentions it his friend Miss USA...

Jaw drop... a photographers dream.

Had the great honor of helping the main photographer shoot part of the wedding reception.

Sports connection...I think Joe Mauer dumped her or vice versa? IDIOT!!!!

Spent the whole night photographing dozens of beauty queen bridesmaids at a reception.

Included teen queens and almost every age group of other beaaty queens... they were all simply stunning.

Never forgot the amazing level of sophistication they had at such young ages. Light years ahead of any 18-25 yo!

All were friendly and down to earth. No drama queens unlike alot of other weddings I shot.

It was my drop the mic moment.

Burned out from 100's of sporting and wedding events, I pretty much quit photography altogether and walked away with a huge personal and professional highlight.
