At one time or another most of us have experienced USPS fail to scan an item or drop the ball on an item that we either sold or purchased on Ebay. One thing that you should definitely do (even when a seller request that it not be used) is purchase signature confirmation. Ebay just sided with me (the seller) on a claim where the item was marked "redelivery scheduled". I don't know if the buyer was trying to scam me or not (which I believe he is trying to scam because he never mentioned anything until a month after the 1st delivery attempt) but because I used signature confirmation, Ebay has sided with me on this case. I was told by EBAY that I would not have been protected if I didn't use signature confirmation. I was certain that I was going to get screwed out of $4500 on this one.

I have had those like that where SC was not bought and Ebay sided with me. If a buyer does not make an effort to pick up an item at the PO, Ebay will generally side with the seller. Anything over 750.00 is required to have SC for the seller to be protected. Anything less than 750.00 SC is overkill and could actually upset a buyer to the point they neg you. Have seen it a few times where a seller gets negged for using it when not needed and the buyer having to go to the PO to get the item.

But he rescheduled this item for re-delivery. The status has just never updated.

They attempted delivery that is all that Ebay needs to see. Ebay considers that to be a valid delivery attempt. Had that not been there I guarantee you would have lost this claim.

Did it ultimately get returned to you?

Nope...and if it does...I would do the right thing and personally deliver it to Texas on my next trip.
