My lcs told me the panini license runs through 2019. Does anyone have more information on this? Did you collect topps chrome football and jumped to optic or prizm after 2015? I did in 2016 but lost interest fast. Nothing like topps chrome football!!!

You won’t until Topps gets a license again for NFL. They do not have it currently.

Miss it a lot. Optic is not bad, but prizm is way overpriced.
We can only hope for a Chrome return someday....

Your LCS is full of it. The exclusive went live April 1st 2016. One in which Panini America CEO Mark Warsop said "The NFL rights deal was the longest rights deal Panini has done to date.''

The long standing rumor was a 10 year agreement. That was leaked by someone from the NFLPA, which is part of the deal along with the NFL.

Zero chance it was a 3 year deal. You also have to assume Topps wants back in. They burned through all their stock, stiffed a bunch of players out of money and did nothing but spit in the face of NFL fans that had redemptions.

this is very interesting AND good information. 10 years is a long time. i know football cards were better off with topps than with panini. panini just flat out sucks!!! topps chrome WAS the rookie card to own. so bummed!

I hope it comes back soon. Pretty much left the hobby after it happened. Only purchases have been Topps baseball and Upper Deck hockey. The football products I see coming out look like complete garbage IMO.

Topps bid very low on Football, they see more money in non-Sports, so unless Panini buys them it will a long time.

Once Panini signs Colin Kaepernick to a deal. Topps will get it back. :)

At least there are a ton of options for the same 100 veterans and 100 rookies in every release! :doh:

I fully expect Panini to start feeling the effect from the boycotters within the next, oh, 80-90 years.

I browse the football box break section from time to time and it’s depressing. Not near the breaks that I saw 2-3 years ago when I was active.

Less breaks posted each year it seems. People must be depressed or embarrassed to show their bad breaks. Even some of the breaks that people think are good are awful. As long as they are happy, that's all that matters though.

Topps only cares about Baseball IMO, they just lost their NFL right 4 years ago, but look how long they have been out of the basketball and hockey. As a soccer collector, they have exclusive rights to the Premier League and Champions League, but only release a couple garbage products a year.

People would complain. My bigger issue is the exclusive license. I could not care less if Poopnini made cards if I could still get Topps cards. But I can't, and that's why I protest Poopnini regularly. This forum has been very useful and educational for me and I feel as though I owe it to people to point out the fraud that Poopnini perpetrates on a daily basis. If just one person reads "Poopnini," then wonders why and does some research, I've done my civic duty on the forum.

Topps will never win a bidding war with panini for the NFL License... You can bet on that.. Panini making BANK and trust me they not letting Football go.

The ONLY way they get back in is if they drop the exclusives for all sports and let all the companies make cards... Which I hope doesn't happen.
