I put in a random bid on this, not thinking that I would ever win it.

I don't know anything about basketball cards, so I was wondering if it was fairly priced?

I'm not going to pretend to know anything about this card outside of the 1.5 seconds of research that I literally just did, but I will say that it looks amazing and congrats on having 1/4!

Doesn’t get any better than that monster! I’m super impressed by this based on the final winning bid.

Not a market I follow too close but I'd certainly take 3200 cash over this.

That's a lot of cheddar and I found anything bigger than s normal booklet cumbersome.

You don't know anything about basketball yet you throw a bid of over THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS on some random card? Wow.

I would never personally buy that because there's so much college crap out there and I have no interest in that stuff. That said, the player selection is great.

Think bit of an overpay but these are hard to price. Here's a decent 1/1 that sold last week.

Difference auto wise is instead of Rodman, iverson and Malone you have Russell west and drexler.

Multi autos are always tough as most of the time someone on the card doesn't pan out and usually hurts the value in the long term.

Seems about right.

Yea the goof kid on the bottom of the first panel looks like he could flop and the guy on the top probably would get cut by a jv team.

The way top tier players are trending currently for their autos, you did well. Wait a year or 2 and throw it back out there and youll probably get double what you paid.

spending $3k on a card on a whim blows my mind. I don't follow the market on cards like this closely but the player selection is awesome. Too bad about college unis though

Cool piece! The only downside to me is they are sticker autos but still pretty awesome to have all those sigs...

Which of these players do you think will have the worst career going forward?

Why is this back at auction again?

This got me to do some searches.

Apparently it was found by someone on this forum:

https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1173089

Then it was put on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-14-UD-Black-9-Auto-Book-Michael-Jordan-Auto-Bird-Magic-Iverson-5-HOF-s-/263887394732?hash=item3d70ea17ac%3Ag%3AEwEAAOSwkKBbFciD&nma=true&si=lvztupWQ0S%252FMrXS%252FPw%252BERgDw2GQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

But it didn't sell, so he lowered the price but it still didn't sell.

Why wouldn’t he pay what his winning bid was?!?!

@Orndorff24a
^He's just saying there's a difference in $1k and thus probably overpaid.

--------------
imo: awesome card but sticker and college unis :/

Also, not really a K.Malone fan with his allegations - think it ruins any card he's on overall, especially this one.

Then think they should have left AI and Malone off and replaced them with nba champion players.

Or you should just cut the first part of the card off and frame it lol - MJ Magic Bird. jk

It's cool, but not that cool, especially not for $3k. I wouldn't even pay $1k
Again, just MY opinion.

But if you're happy with the purchase, then that's all that matters :)

I won’t disagree that he paid more than I would have for the card. But he determined it was worth x amount, bid that much, and won the card. Doing this research on a 3k card after the fact seems like a moot point, and an expensive lesson. Pay for the card and enjoy the hell out of it!

I'll repeat what I said previously:

"He's just saying there's a difference in $1k and thus probably overpaid."
---
That should have been interpreted as domin824 just saying op overpaid by $1000. I do not believe domin824 actually condones not paying. domin824 has 100% feedback over the past year on eBay. If I'm wrong about domin824's intentions, then my apologies.

Youre quote:
"I won’t disagree that he paid more than I would have for the card."
-No one's arguing how much you would have paid.

"But he determined it was worth x amount, bid that much, and won the card."
-As stated, I don't think he literally meant not to pay --- if so then he's wrong and I apologize for misinterpreting him.

"Doing this research on a 3k card after the fact seems like a moot point, and an expensive lesson."
-That is correct and an extra point. People should always pay.

"Pay for the card and enjoy the hell out of it!"
-Hopefully he does :D

Hey it's all good...value on low numbered cards is certainly subjective. What one collector would pay $3k for somebody else might not want at $500. Responses in this thread reflect that, some say he overpaid, some say he did fine. What really matters is what HE thinks.

And maybe I'm misinterpreting what domin824 meant when he said "and also hopefully you haven't paid". To me that means "it's not too late to back out of the deal."

Either way, it's a cool piece. College unis, stickers, and all

For the record, I paid immediately after the auction. I just wanted to know how I did given it was literally a spur of the moment bid (I was originally bidding on a Stallone auto when I saw it). While it seems I over paid, it could have been worse since I bid $5K on it. Again, I honestly thought it would go for much higher than that, but then I don't know anything about sports cards as I don't collect them. I have a bad habit of throwing out random bids on things I see.

Hey post away! I don't mind. It would be interesting to see. If you don't want to reveal it in public though, just send me a PM.
