Greetings,

I’ve budgeted $500 to spend on a Lebron James card(s) Any ideas of what would be the best to purchase? Any input would be appreciated.

Unless you count the third year base refractor as a #'d refractor (I think it's numbered to /999) I don't know if there are many #'d refractors for Lebron still under $500. I do agree that his non-RC refractors are good cards to target in this price range though. Although, even these cards have seen an enormous rise in prices just in the past 6 months or so. Another good option would be his base Exquisite cards, which you can probably get two ungraded ones for around or under $500. If going into Panini products, I think going for his rarer inserts would be ok as well (Galactic, From Downtown, Optic Preview, etc.) I would say Gold Prizm, but again, for many years, $500 may not be enough for a Gold Prizm.

Why not a high school auto from Upper Deck? You get an image of him playing ball on a team he's associated with just as much as his NBA teams perhaps (because he always transfers teams), and you get an autograph.

I think that would be a cool card tonhave, just not sure on its investment potential versus NBA cards.

Im going to be the boring one and say get a topps chrome rookie bgs 8.5-9 with good centering. That card is a must have for any collector imo.

I think PSA 9's are undervalued right now so get some classics refractors in a 9 vs. 10.
