Since most of these people obviously haven’t noticed you’re just getting back into collecting, you’ll quickly find out book value is no longer referenced by 99% of collectors and the standard is recently sold Ebay auctions (making it practically irrelevant).

I just figured I'd ask. I didn't realize that the magazine was such a point of contention.

The magazine is just not an accurate reflection of value/worth. Not really a point of contention, just a useless magazine when it comes to value.

Only Chezzy uses Beckett for pricing anymore :)

There are some weird and strictly abided by rules here. I’ve yet to see a guide so trial and error seems to be the best teacher.

For SPs, yes. But it's usually spot on when taking the price of a recent card and multiplying by 0.40 - 0.50 assuming the player is not in flux.

eBay is the only way. Or 50% off eBay in the BST section here. Those are your choices.

Yes, you’re right. A stagnant magazine is far more spot on than active/current sale prices.

Is it 50%? Last I checked it was in the 60-65% range

Really? Might be a good time to sell here then.

Most people here are trying to get 25% or better over eBay sales prices.
I started a thread about it several months ago and I thought folks were about to fist fight about it at the next national.
