I know Panini can not get every card right but what a disappointment this is.

This card would look so sharp if they had used a picture of Goff in the Rams standard blue and white jersey. Instead they use a picture of him in a throwback jersey which clashes with the logo in the background.

Criticism of Panini?

As a Goff collector I would have loved to own this card.

That's what we've come to. How did Panini get my personal preference wrong?!?!?

Here is how it should look.

Undeniably a better look.

Similar to the Goff card, it appears they used an alternate jersey for the Eli card.

I guess it's deniable because I prefer the first one.

For me, I like striking contrasts visually. The Goff card has the new logo (white) with his blue and yellow uniform on. That's a good contrast between the card design and the uniform.

While Eli's looks good when it comes to the colors matching, it looks like he blends into the logo in the background.... not exactly striking, and it's rather muddled looking IMO. Especially considering the uniform is white... Had they done the logo in blue with red outline, that would have been a good contrast.

Take Aaron Rodgers' version as another data point:

The logo is white, and they have him in the base green with yellow pants. Very good contrast, and very easy to pick out details of the jersey/pants/etc. Had they gone with the Color Rush white that the Packers used, I would be saying the same things about his as I do about Eli's.

Uniform colors clashing with logos is WAY down on the list of things I would give Panini to work on. The card looks fine to me, and I also prefer it to the Eli.

I didn't mean to disrespect anyone's opinion how a card should look. I just thought the card colors clashed too much.

I appreciate anyone's constructive opinions.

what do you mean by "standard blue?"

the "throwback blue" is their main uniform color now. at least for this year and next year. they do not have another blue.

"With NFL commissioner Roger Goodell responding to plenty of fan feedback, the league recently changed its uniform policy as a whole to give clubs more flexibility on what jerseys they’re able to wear. Specifically in the Rams’ case, Los Angeles was able to change its primary “color” uniform to the throwback blue and yellow — eliminating the need for the navy jersey."

"I am disappointed in Panini because they did not consult me when designing this card and cater to my personal preferences".

Some people will really complain about anything

This is correct. And I think their Road Unis feature the use of the Throwback White Horns on the helmet as well.

I remember reading a press release about it when they moved. Going back to their roots with uniforms from the old LA days. Putting a little distance between St Louis and LA.

If anything, Panini nailed this card. The IS their proper uniform and that IS their proper logo.

Not sure I'd call that "clashing"...it's just not perfectly "matchy-matchy".
