How can you tell if one of these 2003-04 Topps Lebron RC's is real or reprint? I just saw a 4-card lot of reprints on ebay :( The modern reprints of cards like this are driving me crazy. I'm assuming just buying graded is the only sure way. Let me know if you see anything telling either way in this card. (It's not my card, so not in hand... just thinking of buying). Thanks!

It would be hard to see from a still picture, but I wonder if there's any "shine" in the foil.

Jabs Family on YouTube is handing these fake LeBron RCs like their candy. I think he’s doing it to get freebies to have mailday videos. Pretty sad honestly.

Great minds think alike
Was going through one of my boxes yesterday and found this card. Cynical part of me thinks it must be a reprint haha
Not sure how to tell which is which....

The reprint environment is getting really crazy. Can’t even keep track. It’s scary.

you mean counterfeits or fakes or forgeries. reprints are usually issued by the original company in a subsequent year’s product. ebay scuzz sellers love misusing that word to obfuscate criminal activity!

Makes me wonder if this is one reason why the prices for my 1996-97 Reprint Refractors has dropped over the past few years. This is a sought after legitimate set, that has LICENSED reprints in it as part of the NBA's 50th Anniversary. Oh well.

You cant really tell if real or not from looking at a scan of the card on a computer screen. The only way to tell is to ask the seller, hopefully they know what they are selling and truthfully. Obvious way to tell would be the real one having silver foiling and the reprint doesnt because it is a fully printed card.

Agreed. Noticed more and more RP has been popping up on eBay. And most seller doesn't use the whole word "Reprint" in description or title, except they simply use RP. I noticed some even put RP as title, but use "original" in the description...:doh:
