Those class of 18 inserts look cool. Love the old school look. I wish they'd makes a whole base set like that!

I like how doncic has the same picture in the portrait as he does in the main photo lol

The main set would be cool if it was die cut, thought the ayton was for a sec. The faces of the future set looks really cool imo

Legend base cards, I really like that especially knowing Reggie Miller has one; they need to include them in Prizm too and take out the coaches. The Faces of the Future look really cool and would look insane if they ever made a Hoops Optic (I think it would work a lot better than Donruss Optic).

I miss 90's Hoops, and wish the cards these days were more plain, and better pictures, and full background of the actual picture, and less shinny and dizziness where a nice picture should be. I also miss Topps and Fleer. Upper Deck not so much.

I like the "Class of 2018" cards but not a huge fan of the base cards this year. Because of the design, they seem off centered to the naked eye.

Seems like they could have thinned out the bottom and right white border a little bit. At first glance it seems thick.

This is the first year since 2012 that I have not collected basketball. I was disappointed with most of the 17-18 releases and my interest faded. Hoops was always one I looked forward to. I can't believe that they didn't get this out before opening night. Crazy! Good luck to everyone who is ripping this. Maybe I will change my mind at some point. :(

More Hoops stuff, I like most all of the inserts...I'll have to pick up an arceologist Reggie though I'm sure that's like 50 cents. I do find it funny though that they have an insert called Action Shots and Donovan Mitchell is holding the ball lol.

I'm seeing some base cards that have the offset picture (RC's and Donovan) and some other base cards that are centered picture. (Durant and Russell)
So, RC's and 2nd years are offset but vets and legends are centered?

It seems totally random outside of the rookies for sure being cut that way and legends being centered, there is Dirk and Porzingis parallel base that are also off-centered.

So, if non-RC's have offset and centered versions, that means there are two base sets for the non-RC's and one base set for the RC's? I wonder if one version is short printed compared to the other?

Found this in the initial preview of Hoops from here https://blog.paniniamerica.net/2018/08/28/panini-america-ready-to-tip-off-new-season-with-2018-19-nba-hoops-basketball/ ... "New for 2018-19 is the Base Hoops Tribute that honors the game’s biggest stars and legends."

I wonder if they're rare at all, going to guess not since its Hoops.

Ah, cool, so the base tribute cards are probably like the Kobe base cards from last years Hoops. Just part of the base set, pull at the same rate as other base cards, and used to just fill out the set to 300 cards. Thanks Pathora.

Fred VanVleet still does not have a single base card and this is his third season. He was a 6 man of the year finalist last season. :doh: Panini is horrible at compiling checklists.

Honestly a solid product but I'm just not gonna be very inclined to buy any wax. I'll look for singles of Pistons rookies and Melo if he's in his rockets uniform but I'm just waiting for PRIZM!!!!

Everyone go buy a spot in the case break here on blowout. It's about 50 bucks a spot but every single year I have hit a bad team, but still been profitable as team collectors buy this st up like no one's business!

“Fall” for it? What are we falling for? Nobody is comparing Hoops to the high-end stuff. I don’t buy $500 boxes or cases of stuff. If anything is a cash grab, it’s THAT stuff.

Hoops has been around since 1989. It is the closest thing to Topps baseball we have. It is tradition. This isn’t about playing the lottery. It is basic enjoyment of cards.

100% Hoops is an institution at this point. The start of the collecting year.
