I have no problem with how they run first of the line so i guess it isn't really a solution for that, but an alternative for the real collectors who want a shot at some of the cards without the hassle of the flippers buying multiple boxes and some people being shut out

So Topps Now with baseball, you buy a set or a single card and it comes in a snap case with the topps seal.

All fotl prizm products going forward would have half sealed boxes and the other half would be a 30 card lot with your 22 silvers, 3 numbered cards, 2 autos, and 3 inserts. NO BASE AT ALL

Each card is toploaded with a seal, and put into a similar holder like topps now cardboard holder which is not sealed, there would be no way to sell these as "unsearched" as they would not be sealed

Strict limit of 2 per household

Of course there would be some animals trying to sell the sets with the Panini address label on it, which is where the last part would come into play and don't know how you can do it but

Panini sends a packing slip with a unique code that can be scanned for a chance to win a special card like "card of the month" for topps now.

But For Basketball it would be for ROY WINNER & or MVP at the end of the year with new photo of ROY or MVP holding trophy. If the coupon code is scanned into an account other than the original purchase account, That account and ip address are blocked from future purchases

CODE EXPIRES BY Jan 1st, to encourage people opening the packs and entering those codes

This would also likely increase the price of sealed boxes for the flippers, since there is now less boxes than usual

Too complicated IMO, all of the FOTL releases have been fine, its just prizm bball that the system gets overloaded. But it was much better than last year and people were actually able to checkout, although with some headache involved. I just hope Panini keeps the program going, its our only hope to get good product at the intended MSRP

Yeah, your proposal sounds interesting, but I agree with BigRhino above, it is rather complicated. Ultimately I would rather have the current system than no FOTL at all. I know it is not an either or situation, but I hope all the complaints over distribution doesn't cause Panini to just scrap the program. It seems like after every FOTL release, there is always a lot of hand wringing over how to fix FOTL. I got lucky for the first time yesterday after getting shut out in every release before this one. When I missed out previously, I never thought the system was "broken" or needed fixing. I was unlucky previously, but yesterday, I was able to get through checkout twice with just my fingers, computer and phone. I know, it sucks when you don't get through. But you still have a chance to get the product on the secondary market (albeit at a markup). Sometimes, I think we forget that part of the allure of FOTL is that not everybody gets it. Typically the whole idea of a "limited edition" product is to create interest and hype for the major release. If everybody got a FOTL it would defeat the purpose of spurring demand for the manufacturer's actual money making product upon release.

This is the first fotl I went after and I got through twice as well and got 12 boxes with the app. As a collector I planned on busting 6 boxes, now I’m a reseller

Checkout would be the same but 2 products drop simultaneously which would make bots and collectors pick what to go after

Limited edition would still apply to both the boxes and my 30 Card Lot idea, less boxes would increase secondary for the group breakers that buy these boxes and the lots would have a limited edition card later in the year for the collector that more than likely would be a 350+ Card by itself

Like I said I have no problem with it how it is but I’m sure if I missed out I would feel differently, just throwing ideas out there

Yeah, it is an interesting concept. My point is just that from Panini's end, the process seems to be working. I am not sure what their incentive is to add more steps. Right now they just have to print the product, announce it, ship it. They are selling out FOTL products instantly and in cases like Prizm and NT creating such a frenzy that it actually seems to be creating more buzz for their already most popular products.
