2-3 days to never.

YOu are lucky it is lost, but one thing is the time. USPS does not really consider any package lost for at least 21 days past shipping so if not that long you will likely have to wait that out.

It has been in transit for 30 plus days

Update - just logged into USPS and that said that my claim has been approved. It will be interesting to see how long it will take to actually get paid.

Once approved, getting paid is quick. You should see a check within 7-10 days.
