I've discovered my niche for YouTube videos and that is seeking out every single shop in New England that I can to showcase what is inside for others that may not be aware that they even exist. This is an ongoing project I've only done for about six months as of starting this thread, I'm guessing there are 25+ shops to choose from that are within a 3 hr drive of Boston.

Feel free to chime in to add more as this list will be an ongoing process.

I'm sure I'll have more to add but here are some places I have stories about that I don't see listed:

Bay State Sports Cards (http://www.baystatesportscards.com/) in Framingham, MA - Good selection of cards and he often puts cards/memorabilia/bobbleheads etc in bargain bins. Found some cool Red Sox memorabilia from him.

Bay State Coin (https://www.downtownboston.org/explore-downtown-boston/shopping/listing/bay-state-coin-company) in Boston, MA - dirty, grimy little place in Downtown Crossing area of downtown Boston. Has some packs/boxes and various other stuff. Wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit it but worth a pop in if you're already walking around Boston Common/Downtown Crossing. They had some very rare baseball programs sitting in a box in the back room that I scooped up a couple of years ago, never know what they may have back there.

Slapshot Sports Cards (https://www.facebook.com/slapshot.sportscards) and Sportsworld (http://sportsworld-usa.com/) in Saugus, MA - Sportsworld is the kingpin of sports memorabilia in the North Shore and they have impressive stuff. They facilitate a lot of signings and set up at the Shriners shows. But they're pricey and I always feel like I'm wasting the owners time when I'm in there. Slapshot cards are right across Route 1 from Sportsworld and the owner is pretty quiet but its your average card store w/ new wax and old stuff.

Bud's Cards (http://www.budscards.com/) in Meredith, NH - tiny little shop in an older couple's house, usually only open on Saturdays during non-summer months because Bud is a teacher full-time. Can't remember what new stuff would be there but its crammed with vintage memorabilia and cards and the owner is super nice. Fun place to pick through.

The Card Guys (https://www.nhcardguys.com/) in Portsmouth, NH - a modern store, seemed like lots of box selection, prices seemed fair. They seem to do a side hustle hosting birthday parties and selling local HS gear.

Don's Sports Cards (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dons-Sports-Card-Center/313242152156413) in Portland, ME - prices can be kind of high but Don frequents Net54 boards and is a scion for cards & memorabilia in NE area. Lots of cool stuff. I think he's the only card store in the Portland area.

Republic Jewelry & Collectibles (https://republicjewelry.com/) in Auburn, ME - this is a hike from Boston but they have a ton of vintage wax and a good selection of modern stuff. Fair prices IMO too.

I have a great addition for Rhode Island;

Baseball Cards of Rhode Island
6681 Post Road
North Kingstown, RI 02852
(401) 885-7340

Always a great selection of current wax (All sports - individual packs, singles & boxes) as well as older popular wax. For those that like to browse the discount bins there is a large selection of singles that are segregated by sport.

Knowledgeable staff, with easy access from either Ma. or Ct.

Almost done with the latest updates, MCyganik threw a bunch out there so I still have a few of his to go over. The rest are in place.

I also recently did a shop tour of Batter Up Sports Cards in Tewksbury, MA and that video has been added.

Nice job!!

I've not watched the video yet for Batter Up but my thoughts were their wax was pretty expensive compared to most.

My "FOTL" boxes of Bowman and Topps S2 I purchased from them recently have been very affordable. They do rise quickly but pre-orders are where it is at with them.

I did a visit last week, the owner is SUPER nice and I'm going back to film a tour of the shop after work tonight. I should have the video up by the weekend at the latest.

Updates:

Adding J&J Coins & Collectibles on the MA list after receiving a tip on Twitter.

Also got the Central Sports Cards video up. I'm very proud of this one because it includes a 5-minute question and answer with the shop owner.

Update - Lucky’s Sports Cards is closed for at least the last 2-3weeks.Thank you. I actually ran into the owner a few months back who informed me in person that this would likely be the case as he is moving all back to eBay. I just wasn't sure when this would occur.

I've been in touch with the guy who is helping put together the JustCollect hobby shop list and is using many of the ones I've posted here. I think it'd be a big help to others throughout the country that want to search for local shops, as well, not just in New England.

Unfortunately its nearly an hour drive for me, but when I can, I spend time at Diamond Kings in Greenland NH (next to Portsmouth)
The owners name is Jeff. Great guy, and a nice shop with a huge selection of wax.
Its one of those places you can easily spend hours at talking cards sorting through his endless boxes, etc..

+1 for this shop

For anyone in Southern NH as well as the Boston area, I forgot to list this little gem located in Haverhill Ma. / The Comic Book Palace - 620 Primrose Street, Haverhill Ma.

They have a great selection of Boxes (all sports) as well as single packs on their main counter. Prices are very competitive with the owner Glenn being a great guy!

This place is worth the trip, nothing fancy but always well stocked with the latest products.

If your into Comic Books this is the place, I'm not a comics guy but I know based on my visits that they stock just about every major brand and have a loyal customer base.

It appears that he is also allowing customers into the store starting this weekend, check their Facebook page for current hours.

A few Connecticut additions:

Simsbury Cards & Comics - Granby
Website: http://simsburycc.com/
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SimsburyCC/

I've only been inside a few times to buy comics. There are lots of sports cards. Sealed boxes, packs, and singles. Plus supplies, Magic: The Gathering, toys, and other memorabilia. Reopened earlier this week and offers curbside pickup. It's maybe five minutes from the Massachusetts line.

Comics and Collectibles - Glastonbury
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/comicsncollectibles.eh/

I've been here a few times. It's mostly comics and toys/statues but there are Magic: The Gathering cards and some other cards. I remember seeing some baseball and old Star Wars: CCG packs for sale.

IDeal Cards and Memorabilia - Locations in Canton and Terryville
Facebook (Canton): https://www.facebook.com/idealcards/
Facebook (Terryville): https://www.facebook.com/IDealCards2/
Twitter: https://twitter.com/ideal_cards

I've never actually been to either location but the Facebook pages look good. The Canton store has apparently reopened. The Terryville store is only open for 1-on-1 appointments.

For anyone into Magic: The Gathering or board games, there's the Tabletop Gaming Center in Newington (Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TabletopGamingCT/) and The Portal in Manchester (Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TimeMachinePortal/). Also GamesIRL in Canton (Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gamesinreallife/) but I haven't been there yet.

Gotta give a little plug to my local shop:

Tri County Cards
800 Park Ave #132
Keene, NH 03431
603-352-4205

Owner named Dick. He's 80 and been in cards forever. He still does things the "old" way, lol. But a great little shop with very fair prices.
