Wasn’t one of the reasons he lost his last job due to salary cap management?

Correct
But Browns still employ all those analytics and salary cap guys (Paul DePodesta etc...) for a reason. They just aren’t as public as they were with Sashi Brown
Hopefully they are in his ear

He also assembled a great team. And since him and Reid allegedly had issues I'm not surprised they got rid of him.
We have a lot of cap room and a QB on a rookie deal. I'm not sure how much more we need to spend in the near future to hit the cap floor (not sure if anyone ever comes close to it, but we've had a lot of money to spend recently) but he's putting together another very solid team.

I think this indicates they planned to move him for some time and waited out the turmoil and injury and got what they wanted.

It seemed to me that Dorsey and Hunt/Reid didn't get along was more of the problem. Peterson (GM before Dorsey) was 100 times worst.
