I‘d like to hear some opinions about what will eventual happen with him.
He was already mentioned in the AD trade talks. He is a fan favorite in Boston and has already shown he can deliver. Celtics were so much fun last year.
Do you guys think Boston could really trade him or is he a center piece in the Celtics future?
Kinda sad what happened to this team this year. A bunch of individuals..
I‘m waiting for his Immaculate RPA /99 but really getting tired. It‘s been 5 months now. Should I request a Replacement if it doesn’t show up in 2-3 months? Maybe he will return it after the Playoffs. Anybody else waiting?
Please share your thoughts..

Honestly, who knows? Your guess is as good as mine in regards to what will happen with him. He could become a perennial All Star or he could stay the same as he is now.
I'd personally wait for your redemption to be fulfilled. 5 months is nothing...

I don't claim to be a Celtics insider and have any scoop on their plans.
but it has become obvious that collecting wing players who are at their best with the ball in their hands is not a recipe to take the next step.
Irving, Tatum, Hayward are all 3 guys who are at their best with the ball in hand and creating for themselves and others. Tatum and Hayward are solid shooters but if you ask them to stand around and wait for Irving to create and do stand alone shooting- that is not their best game.
Jalen Brown is not a great shooter or a good creator but he is another wing player. Smart is their best defender but also a wing/back court player.
The sum of the parts individually, especially assuming Hayward gets back to full strength which nobody expected until next year, is better than how they mesh as a team.
If they are going to make a splash, I think it's gotta be with Tatum. Irving has a ton of talent but I think the NBA is realizing he's not an alpha dog. He could leave in FA, but Im not sure his trade value is huge. Hayward has no trade value, and Brown/Smart are going to be limited to bringing back a similar value player maybe at a different position.

If Boston is smart, they keep and build around him and try to cut excess weight with guys like Kyrie and Hayward.
I know he didn't exactly take a huge step forward this year with his numbers, but he also had to take a pretty big backseat once Irving and Hayward returned. We've seen it with so many top players in the league...often the big leap doesn't happen until their 3rd or 4th years.
Also, he's due 9 mill and 13 mill through 2021-22. Moving him now makes little sense to me unless they're able to land a huge piece for him that they're 100% certain in.
AD might be one of those. But I still think Kyrie is piece that needs to be moved. The way Boston played last year without a single ball dominant player tells me maybe they work better when everyone's chipping in a little bit vs. when someone is trying to do most of the work.
Kyrie is leaving I'm 90% sure of it and Tatum will be the center of the Celtics for years to come imo
I am 90 % sure that Kyrie stays. He told season ticket holders at the beginning of the season that he will re-sign. He reconfirmed it a few days on a podcast with Quentin Richardson when he and Tatum were guests. “I see the same thing in what me and [Tatum] talk about now. We’re six years apart. And I try to tell him, I’m like, look: ‘I’m a liason between all of this… Whatever you need me to do. I’ll get out your way once you get to that point [of greatness]. You go ahead. This is yours. You want it? Go take it.’ And I tell J as well: ‘Me and you in this, going for the guts and glory. When it’s all on the line? I know I need you right next to me. So let’s get this thing going.’ I have a different relationship with all of my teammates but specifically with him, how special he is.” Danny Ainge knows what he is doing. Also, Boston isn't trading Tatum for AD unless AD shows a willingness to resign long-term. He can have fun with a LeBron that can't make the playoffs on the second best Los Angeles team.
I'm more curious to see what Boston's plans are with Al Horford. He is getting to his mid-30s and I want to see who will be his replacement in a couple seasons because it is very likely he accepts his player option for next year.

His fate will be dependent on him and his team's performance in the playoff. Till then, any opinion is nothing but a pure guess.

As far as hobby status goes, until he’s the alpha on the team, good luck.

That's what i've been hoping for. The talent is there whether he ever gets the chance in Boston is up to the GM and coach. Basically what it boils down to is he needs more shots and be the focal point of the offense. He'll never get that opportunity with Kyrie in his way.
It's tough for me being a Celtics/Tatum fan. I want to see him stay with the C's but he'd probably be better off personally/stats wise/and financially if he goes to NO or somewhere else. If he goes there he can be the guy and be a 25 ppg player.

You can be the best guy in NO or stay in Boston and win a championship

struggled in the beginning of the season. Smart took his starting spot. Since the ASG hes been doing great shooting 60% from 3.

He's kind of in the same boat as Tatum. They need to restructure the team in the off season. If Kyrie and Marcus Morris were gone those two (Tatum/Brown would get a lot more looks. Morris is a black hole on offense all he like to do is shoot. Tatum has a higher ceiling though imo Brown could turn into a solid 18 ppg player as the teams second option.

Yeah I still am pretty high on him. I don't think his solid performance his rookie year in the regular season and postseason was an anomaly. He's had some pretty big games with Kyrie out of the lineup. Dude JUST turned 21. He's going to be good. Would like to see it happen in Boston, but like you said...it might be tough in Boston with that logjam of talent.

He’s been playing better than Tatum for a few months now. He’s quietly become the 2nd most impactful player on the C’s. Once Stevens gave him a consistent role and stopped trying to force Hayward into the equation he has gotten back to his baseline. He’s been playing excellent basketball.

He's on fire of late. Three straight games with 22+ points off the bench. His shooting suffered earlier in the season because of a hand injury that few people talked about. It's not an issue anymore.

If the Celtics want to make a deal for AD, they won't get him without the Celtics trading a package that includes Tatum or a pile of draft picks and a player or 2.

man -forget AD and Kyrie. You can win as a team--that is how stevens/pops coaches. It was evident in last playoffs, they never let it grow this season. Try for kemba and WCS. You still need vets.

I'm not so sure of that, depending on Brandon Ingram's health. Boston can probably give the best package of players and picks, but if Ingram isn't in a Lakers deal (or Pelicans don't want the risk), Boston can still make the best offer but might not have to include Tatum to do so.

For kyrie staying, is he a max contract kind of guy? That seems like it could hamstring the team longterm, especially if they can't dump Hayward contract.

If they trade AD in the Summer NO gets whomever they want. They can just hold him until the trade deadline. NO still has leverage.

There is no non-Tatum package the Celtics can put together that will be better than what 2-3 other teams can offer. Unless the Kings somehow win the lottery.

Pels have leverage in so far as they have Davis and can trade him to whomever they choose. However, the longer they hold him, the less his "value" is to teams just due to the fact that the team trading for him loses his production (if the Pels hold him through the start of the season) and he can bolt after that one season (and the longer you wait to trade him, the less time the receiving team has to convince him to stay). So the Pels could say, even if Boston has the best offer without including Tatum, that they won't trade him unless Tatum is included, but they risk all offers reducing as time goes by.

I'm interested in what other teams you believe can offer a better package of players and picks than the Celtics (even if you don't include Tatum) and that team is willing to risk giving it up that haul for a possible one year rental. Also, I believe that Kings pick is top 1 protected, so I don't know if you mean that the only way the Celtics non-Tatum offer would be better than the 2-3 other teams is if they had the first pick (which wouldn't convey) or if you meant the Kings would have a better package by virtue of the top pick.

Beating a package where the best asset is Jaylen Brown won't be hard. These are the Celtics assets:
- Brown
- Grizzlies pick
- Clippers pick
- Kings pick
- Yabusele
- Williams
I see Phoenix, NY and the Lakers offering something better than this even for a rental.
By the lottery, I meant the Kings jumping a getting a high unprotected pick. I didn't remember whether the pick was Top 1 or Top 3 protected. I was saying that unless the Celtics end up getting something like that, other teams would beat their offer.

If they really trade Tatum they have no sense of loyalty and don’t deserve to win a chip.
Thanks for your input guys, good to see that most want to see him stay in Boston. There is enough talent Celtics don’t need a package for anybody. Some small changes here and there. Bring Gordon off the bench!:D
As for the redemption, it’s one of his best RPAs so I will continue waiting. But it sucks that he keeps signing newer products on card.
I still don’t get it why all his other cards are live in Immaculate and only the /99 are Redemptions.. Something must have happened to those cards or he was just tired of signing:confused:
