While I felt the disappointment of NOT landing the NFL NT this year, the ability to make money is what makes the FOTL so fantastic. You can break for MSRP or choose to take the easy profit. It is a win/win for those lucky enough to land one. Man, How I hate those opportunists. ;)

I don't know, man. Pretty much guaranteed 1k profit per out the gate. Hard to turn that down if you have a spare 15 minutes to hour in the morning.

Very few instant flip opportunities like this with this kind of ROI.


But I agree...we're all degenerates at the end of the day. And Panini knows it.

It would be good for buyers i don't think they'd be able to push as much junk though. In other words they wouldn't make as much money. Right now they've got the best of both worlds by doing both with FOTL and breakers pushing junk in order to get allocated high end products.

Just feel like this panini high end #@#@#@#@ is completely absurd and I'm just disillusioned at the whole thing. Distributors jerk us, breakers kill the local hobby shops, ebay is more shady then the south side of Chicago, and panini wont invest in tech to adequately deal with the demand for its products. In the end its us, card collectors, (who are about as loyal customers as it gets) that get screwed over. I just looked at it and thought there is a less then 5 percent chance you get half your money back on this. #@#@#@#@ing shameful really

Nobody's selling FOTL to BO at 1500 when Hobby is at 1200. I wouldn't be surprised if they open at something like $2200. With the guaranteed rpa, these are worth at least half of hobby case price IMO.

They may, just depends on the cost they have to pay to reorder Hobby NT.

If Hobby NT is $1500 a box on release day, then FOTL is going to be $2000 +/- $100. It looks like preorders are roughly $1200 right now, though BO is out of stock for preorders so I expect their price to go up. I don't think a $2K initial offer is out of the question. Theres a 0% chance that the bounty is $1500 for FOTL. Currently it's probably around $1700 if people had it today as that would be the $500 premium. Your profit is going to be roughly the price of an NT Hobby box, whatever price those boxes may be.

Baker RPAs opened at $6-7k, with the field being substantially lower other than Darnold, Saquon, and Lamar. Luka will be >$10k.

Plus, it's not about the "premium" relative to box price. They group-broke 12 FOTL NT football boxes at 1900 per over the last two days. Hobby is currently around $3800 /case, so people were willing to pay to break one of these with guaranteed rpa at half case price.

Case price of basketball will be close to $5k at release, and basketball has far more "depth" when it comes to the prices RPAs will command. They should be able to break these at close to $3k /box, which is why it would be stupid to sell at less than $2k, regardless of whether Panini charges $500.

And when BO is offering to buy for $2K and Group breaking them for $3K then what do you do?

They had their sole box of 17/18 NT FOTL BKB available to be broken, couldn't get any traction on it.

Eventually, you hold to long and you lose because you can't move the boxes. BO will offer about a $500 premium on Hobby. If somebody thinks they can command the premium that BO commands, more power to them. Sell it for $3K like BO and take your cash. The majority can't, which is why BO ends up with the boxes.

And even then you have to be like a top quarterback in the league to retain value. Nobody cares about anyone else (other position) beyond their first couple years. They'll fade very fast in value.

Right, but the window to sell the QB is insanely large. Again, Jimmy Garoppolo was selling for $3K plus 4 years after his cards were released. Logan Thomas had a Prizm Auto sell for $50+ in December. He had a cracked ice auto sell for that much less than 2 months ago, 5 years after release. He has outsold current lottery picks from the same year who aren't even scrubs. Logan Thomas hasn't even been a QB in 2 years, he's now a tight end.

Yes, you can hit the absolute right guy in basketball (there's about 1 a year) who will sell for something relative to their RC year if not increase following the initial wave.

NT basketball is King, especially the initial prices. 3 years after the product has been released, not so much. Jimmy G is still outselling everybody from the same year not named Joel Embiid. Derek Carr is outselling the other guys not named Wiggins/Lavine. McCarron has 87 completions and was outselling Aaron Gordon last year (same RC year). Football just doesn't have that Embiid type price, but honestly sans 5 or so players basketball doesn't have that either.

This was my first miss on something I tried for as well. I just know I bought some Select FOTL from a local guy this year, and he got 12 boxes between himself, his sister, and a co-worker. When I went to pick them up he said "I hope you hit a... uh... is it Donhmpfks...?" Guy had no idea what they were buying, just that they could be sold for profit.

I used the website yesterday and was able to purchase 2 boxes of the FOTL Contenders Draft Pick Football. It was a little slow, but not awful from my perspective. I even ended up with four boxes in my cart and had to get back down to two (the limit) by deleting one at a time and was still able to get my purchase through.

Basically, I guess I'm just saying that for the average user that doesn't have bots running or 43 friends in 12 states trying to purchase FOTL it's all just luck.

I figured it out a while back...

The Ayton FOTL RPA that Panini posted on Twitter during All Star weekend was /20. There were 46 RPAs in 2017-18 although there are 3 in the checklist unaccounted for ( #115, #145, & #147.)

So anywhere from 920 (46 RPAs) to 980 ( 49 RPAs) boxes. Maybe an even 1000 (50 RPAs.)

Yeah been thinking that since it was pushed back. Some people forget it’s only supposed to be in hand 2-3 days before release. Selling Wednesday, package and ship Thursday and Friday. Vast majority of people get boxes Tuesday/Wednesday. Regular NT releases Friday.

I think you should be able to post whatever but don't buy the whole I just got back into the hobby. FOTL is kinda nuanced and is not something you would just automatically know about and then post in BO about if you just got back in hobby

I'd say you have a 5 percent chance at best to get a box. You could buy a bunch at 2500 a wop but at that point unless you have mega funds its wayyy risky. The Kevin Hervey RPA you paid 2500 for might put you on suicide watch...Paninis site will crash and that is only after Panini employees get first crack, then big breakers get a 10 minute window before us, then all the rest of us fight it out for the scraps. So good luck homeboy..you will need it

Last 3-4 releases they announced it the day before so it probably won’t be today as we have yet to see a Tuesday fotl sale day. Unless it’s pushed back it will be Wednesday. Wednesday sales is the only way it can shipped out in time. Friday is also a holiday. Haha people are getting so antsy for NT they can’t think logically about it. Could be wrong with an announcement today and sale tomorrow but based on past fotl releases I’d say my prediction should ring true

Agreed. Before the update the app was 100% the way to go but that sounds like it hasn’t been the case for everyone now. Luck and great connection speed will be your keys to victory

It could be. Typically though fotl is Wednesday or Friday. With Good Friday being a holiday seems very very unlikely. There is definitely no set rules so could be Thursday based on fotl history

Edit. I stand corrected. I double checked and It looks like select basketball was a Thursday release (feb 28th) and regular product released match 6th. I could be Thursday but again with Friday a holiday they will probably want to have everybody shipped by Friday. Thursday sales most likely means product ships Monday

To put this in perspective, last year they backed up the release date a few times with it finally releasing on May 2nd. NT FOTL was April 27th. That's only 2 business days between FOTL & Hobby.

It's not crazy that one of the following happens:

A) The release gets pushed back another week

B) FOTL is Wednesday April 17 or Monday April 22.

C) With a slight chance of it being on Good Friday.

I had added Honors to my cart and went to go check out and it said my shopping cart was empty on the checkout page even though my cart icon showed I had 1 in my cart. I went back to the FOTL shopping screen and clicked add to cart and it showed 2 in my cart and I went to check out and the same thing happened. I refreshed the check out page and it showed 2 now for me to purchase and check out but then my "i'm not a robot" verification timed out and the product was sold out.

Same thing happened to my coworker but he was able to check out. I was told it sold out while trying to process my order which is why my verification timed out.

If you have something in your cart and the item gets sold out, that's it. It's not in your cart anymore.

What people fail to realize is that you don't have the product until you finish checkout and PAY! So, having it in your cart means NOTHING!
