For a 6th round pick? Am I missing something? A 1k rusher with a $2 mil contract and the bears only got a 6th round pick? I should be a GM for an NFL football team.

dosent fit in nagys offense, he was average at best last season. But I think the Bears could have gotten more than just a 6th pick

RB's ain't worth jack squat these days.

Funny because McKinnon got 12 mill from the niners, and Howard is 3x the running back.

Im not sure he is. Jerrick is overpaid. But in todays Nfl, Rbs have to be able to basically be Wrs too. Howard isnt that, jerrick is.

Shanahan wants McKinnon’s skill set though. You pay for the player that fits the scheme.

Jerrick is the better receiver, but I don't think it's by much.

Howard showed he can be a good 3 down back his rookie year. But for some reason they slowly started phasing him out in the passing game and going RBBC with Cohen, perhaps to conserve his health because Cohen is the size of Warrick Dunn.

The bears will 100% regret this trade in the years to come
6th round pick....... lol

Yeah Bears and Nagy need a RB who can catch in their offense and Cohen doesn't. He is a pretty good RB though, but his yards per attempt have gone down every year, from 5.2 to 4.1 to 3.7....

Bears fan here and I actually really like Howard. I'm glad he's going to a team that will actually use his skill set. The fact of the matter is that Howard doesn't fit what the Bears are doing and this is getting something instead of nothing. I don't like it, I would rather have Howard for one more year than just a 6th (potentially 5th) but unless you're one of the freak of nature RBs (Gurley, Barkley, Zeke etc.) then a lot of teams just don't put a lot of value in the RB position now so I understand it.

I really hope we draft a RB though, Mike Davis is ok but he's not Howard and Cohen is not a 3 down back.

As an Eagles fan I'm pretty excited to get JH at such a cheap price. Essentially he's a one year rental trying to prove it and then he can walk in free agency and we'll get a comp pick better than a sixth round pick.

I've been a big fan of Jordan Howard... he is not a three down back and I'm still hoping to get Josh Jacobs in the first or someone else in the second round. Jordan Howard will fit perfectly into the rotation.

Do you expect to get a running back of Howard’s caliber from the 6th round? Without luck playing a significant factor in the equation it won’t happen.

He’s worth a late 3rd or early to mid 4th at worse. Bad move by the bears.

Bears wouldn't trade within the division, but I would have loved the Lions to get him for a sixth round pick.

No but we very well could find one using our 3rd or 4th round draft pick. Nobody is expecting to turn that 5th or 6th rounder into the next Howard, if that was expected than the Eagles would've just kept that pick and done it themselves to get the same caliber of player for longer and for less money.

We have drafted really well late in rounds. Jordan Howard, himself, was a 5th round pick. I am a huge fan of Howard and he is my PC, but it was clear he was not going to be resigned after this year because he doesn't fit the scheme well. We got something for him, at least, although I would have preferred to keep him this year and then just not resign him.

This draft is loaded with backs though, and I'm sure we will grab one.

yep...always bummed when see stuff like this...im sure they have there reasons...but even a 5th for Howard i would have been happy with...but the Lions always seem to think what they have is good enough...regardless if those players have actually proven a thing or not...like they prob look at Zenner and are like nah we dont need Howard....ZZ can fit that role....very frustrating

or maybe they did offer a 5th and CHI like you said didnt want to deal him to us...who knows...but it happens all the time...we think we dont need help so we never pursue guys...other teams can have extra at a position and if they see value they make the deal anyways...cuz you cant have too much talent...

So does anyone think Cohen is gonna step up big time in this offense or are the Bears gonna plug in some other RB in place of Howard? Mike Davis sure in the heck isn't gonna cut it in place of Howard.

Howard has never been a hb that you can create a mismatch out wide with. He is too sluggish. Jerrick you run those option routes and get free. Very different players. I'm not sure what you saw tbh to think Howard is a good receiving back. He improved in that aspect, but he isn't close to fitting in even the Jerrick line of receiving. When you look at all the effectives RBs now, they can receive like Wrs, Bell, DJ, Barkley, Zeke, Gurley etc. If you can't go out wide a few times a game, you aren't a 3 down back in todays game.

Howard is of the AP mold. He needs to chip away at the defense to break one.

I love Cohen but I think we use him about as much as we did last year. I think between Cohen, Patterson, Davis and Mizzell (we started using him more towards the end of last year) we will be ok. We will probably run a very unique running offense where you just don't know who's going to get the ball. I trust Nagy enough to be very innovative on offense and even though we don't have a true superstar anywhere at RB, we have more than enough talent in order to be very creative. I look at our RBs right now the same way I look at our WRs, there's no true stand out but everybody is good to very good so you just creative mismatches and ride the hot hand.

Yup, this is the new NFL math. Get a player on the last year of a deal and then let them walk in FA to get the comp pick.

Yup, that's basically my take with the addition that I believe we draft another running back in this draft and he will be part of the rotation too. I hope we can land Miles Sanders.

Funny because McKinnon got 12 mill from the niners, and Howard is 3x the running back. Ain't that the truth. wow, didn't know McKinnon got that much. Howard is a beast, glad he's gone, now if they could just get rid of that Mack guy...
