So it’s looking like Orlando and Detroit will both get in, leaving 1 spot between Brooklyn Miami and Charlotte. If Charlotte wins 2/3 and Miami loses next 2, wins in Brooklyn, while Brooklyn loses out they’d all be tied at 39-43. My question is who gets in? I’d think it’d be Charlotte due to best conference record Is that right?

I think the first tie breaker is their head to head to head records. NBA.com has all these tie breaker rules in their standing page

Charlotte has the tie breaker over Miami, Orlando, Detroit, and Brooklyn.

Question for the group...

Do any of the 5-8th seeds have a chance at an upset?

Orlando seems to be the only team playing well right now; they'll get Milwaukee, Toronto or Philly if they get in. Maybe if they stay hot they could put up a fight, but I don't see any of the bottom four teams surprising anyone.

Magic fan here.

I do not see any of the 6-8 seeds getting past the 1st round. Though I do think if any team down there stood a chance at upsetting a top seed, it would be Orlando. They are playing well right now, and have played well against the top teams this year. They've really choked against the bottom teams.

Like I said, I don't see anyone upsetting, but do think Orlando could make it hard on one of those top seeds
