View Full Version : Thoughts on 09/10 Upper Deck Case.

I'm sure you guys get a million of these questions about which is a good case to buy but I am a football card collector and I am admittedly uninformed about basketball products. However, my fiance and myself are HUGE Celtics fans and we are both looking to get some nice Celtics game used and autos and I see that a case of this stuff would yield a ton of chances to hit not to mention some of the years hottest rookies. I'm not looking to spend more than $600 on a case of something either. Has anyone opened this product? I saw that madcat opened a case last week but the video wasn't very helpful as to show exactly what he got.

check this site or some other site for exact product info but ull get a lot of dual jerseys, a couple autos per box, and then like subset/insert stuff. i dont think there are any blake autos in this, there are nash / jordan / lebron autos in the main auto set, im sure there a lot of celtics jersey cards and probably some autos. this wouldnt be a case to get if u wanna like make money potentially, but if u like opening a lot of packs and dont mind a lot of base then u would like this. plus there are i think like 2 hot boxes or something per case.

Yea there is 3 hot boxes per case and the only blake griffin cards are non auto'd short prints. I'm really on the fence with this.

Yeah I would pick something else.

The cards are okay but nothing great and the prices are inflated due to the Blake Griffin craze and the best Blake you can get is a rookie which sells for $15.

The hits are very so so and I don't see long term value outside of the key Rookies. I would pass.

another idea is to take that same amount of cash and load up on Celtics stuff from Ebay....I wish I would take my own advice sometimes

why would you spend $600 to get only your favorite team? spend 1/5th of that and get all the autos and gu of your favorite team on ebay

It's more than just getting PC cards. It's about the fun of opening packs and seeing what the best card you could pull is. The chase is just as fun as the rewards.

I actually pulled a michael Jordan auto from this product, it came out of a hot box. My friend also pulled a lebron auto from a hot box. So I would say don't buy the case because the big hits are in the hot box and there are only 3 or 4 per case not worth it if u ask me

Exactly...thats why I don't follow my own advice.

I buy all these boxes because I really like the thrill of busting one...knowing that I could have taken that same amount of money and went on Ebay to buy something. Just doesn't feel as good to me though.

If it goes down to $350 a case I would probably pull the trigger. I'm going to keep my eye out. I ended up purchasing 3 boxes of 09/10 Panini Studio instead. It's much cheaper and I absolutely love the look of the cards. Classiest cards I have seen short of national treasures.

I really liked studio also...but most people on here did not I noticed.

I pulled a nice Rajon Rondo auto numbered to 20 or so.

I'll be breaking them tonight with the fiancee. Imagine that that's what she wants to do on valentines day? I am a very lucky guy. I will post scans tomorrow.

no doubt...if I busted a box on v-day I'd be in the dog house
