In the past, is summer league used as a metric on the value of cards? Or is it situational? For example, this year if mpj comes out and has a good couple summer league games, will his prices rise? On the other hand, let’s say someone like sexton( assuming he plays this summer) comes out struggling, does that effect his prices? What has past seasons indicated ??

If MPJ does well his prices definitely go up. There are more eyes on SL now than there ever has been. Last year Furkan Korkmaz dropped 40 in a game and his Prizm spiked for a short time. I would say your assumption that it's situation is accurate.

SL is sometimes your best/last shot to sell off last years RC cards. Just gotta be ready to list after a big game from some randle.

I don't think anyone struggling in SL will hurt prices. However, certain players (like MPJ) who have been injured and we haven't seen play, will spike if they are doing really well.

I think mpj value will be very volatile. Considering he hasn’t played in decades it seems, and the amount of hype surrounding him, I absolutley think he’s going to have to come out hot in summer league

I was picking some Rice Jr. cards back on the day and I remember when he was the SL MVP the prices increased but some months later decreased again as he didn't pan out.
So prices increase during the SL for those players with remarkable performances and are established until September with the new season then increase/decrease gradually depending on real player performance on the season.

Yeah, never buy during the summer league hype train, lol. A lot of these guys will end up playing 2 mins a game next season.
Despite being a hardcore Nuggets fan I’ve waited to pick up much MPJ as I already see the #investors jacking up prices in anticipation.
