If the raptors win the title this year, will more teams with a good regular season standing do "load management" more?

The NBA will outlaw this to an extent until they change the number of games. No way they want LeBron/Curry/Kawhi/Giannis/Harden etc to be missing 20+ games each; you're seeing enough reduced viewership without LeBron in the Playoffs. I expect a maximum number of "load management" games allowed...Kawhi mainly got away with it this year because he was recovering from an injury.

Time to start season earlier and build rest in? I wouldn’t care about resting players except teams flex prices now. But if I paid more and Lebron sits, do I get a refund? There must be a win-win scenario.

I'm not a fan of the idea.
Just shorten the season if you want to do this. Or add a couple "vacation weeks" to the season.
I would hate to be the fan who buys tickets in advance and then goes to the game and doesn't get to see my favorite player.
For some families going to a game isn't an easy thing to do if you don't live local. For some it takes an entire day, 4-5 hour trip one way and an overnight stay which means paying for a hotel as well.
I live in New England which is a pretty big place. We only have one NBA, MLB, NHL, NFL, sports team for each sport and they're all in Massachusetts.
The scenario above is what i have to do if i want to go see a game. If i lived closer i'd probably go on a regular basis and it wouldn't be that big of a deal if the player skips a few games here and then. I'd probably shrug it off and say "oh well, we'll see him next time."

It's ironic, given the recent blame, who actually started this lol

I don't get why players from the 50's-00's could play all 82 games (and more minutes), including more back to backs, worse traveling conditions, worse nutrition/eating knowledge, more aggressive game, etc, but the "more athletic" players now have to rest so many games and are constantly complaining about how long the season is all while they get more days off inbetween games, fly on team planes, have personal trainers constantly working with them to stay in tip top shape, etc...
I will never understand that. If athletes are so much more superior to athletes of the past, why is less expected of them?

It has nothing to do with expectations....it has to do with winning a championship as the only goal. I think we can all agree that whether it was the 50s or 2019 being fresh and uninjured is a competitive advantage. If your opponent is playing a full season and you play only 50 games you will have an advantage plain and simple. Now most teams don't have the luxury to rest their star for that many games and still end up with a favorable playoff schedule. The teams that do take advantage of it.

I tend to agree with you. I know the media gives the fans constant access to injuries, but I do wonder if past generations didn’t get injured as often. I really want to see a research study to check if the food chain is causing ligaments to break down faster.

And players back than made peanuts compared to todays player. Paid more play less. Todays game sucks nuts.

Why wouldn’t they? The regular season is so meaningless when half the league makes the playoffs. Teams have to protect their investments
