Without getting into some really personal family details, suffice it to say I was out of town attending to a medical emergency for 11 days from the day after the auction began and I believed the card to be physically gone and sold in my absence. When the auction ended and I got the sold email, I was at a bedside saying goodbye and potential feedback on eBay was the last thing on my mind.

As I said, I’ve got a dozen other guys that can vouch for me and 400+ positive feedback otherwise in the past 12 months. It was an extenuating circumstance and unfortunate all around. I messaged the buyer but he was unwilling to modify feedback.

No. You and I both know it’s worth more than that, with or without any other circumstances. You’re trying to exploit the opportunity you believe you see here, nothing more.

I am brand new here, and I don't sell. I intend to occasionally buy though, but after reading this thread, I will definitely blacklist the OP.

The excuses are weak. A person either has integrity, or they don't. Simple as that. It is evident to even the most novice of collector, that the OP didn't get the price they had hoped to get on eBay, so they welched on the deal, then came here hoping to fleece some other sucker for greater profit.

If they were smart, the OP would tuck that card into their PC, and hope that the sour taste from this particular debacle wears off eventually. Then again, if the OP were smart... This discussion wouldn't be happening because that card would have been sent to the high bidder of their ebay auction.

OP, why did you not message the initial winner of the card? Especially when you “found” the card?!? If you wanted to sell it at a certain price eBay has a cool thing you can do. It’s called a reserve. If your card doesn’t reach that amount it won’t sell. That should help you as you seem to be new to the hobby and using eBay.

in an effort to clear my name or at least move the needle a bit, I did send the original buyer another message last night expressing my apologies for the way the deal went down and offering it to him at the price the auction ended at, if he wanted it. He has not, as of yet, responded. If he does not within the next couple of days, I’ve done what I can do at this point.
My version of the story as I told it to you guys was true- but I did handle it incorrectly after the fact, and I can acknowledge that.
