Does anyone know a seller with the user name Shanahan1414 on Ebay?
I've seen his name multiple places already.
Long story short I pre-ordered a case of Tribute baseball from him in March and now see he is no longer a registered user on Ebay.
I was tracking his account for awhile and saw he was pre selling a solid amount of other cases on there and multiple had sold, so I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me and has been in contact with him, or has just tried to get their money back from Ebay (past 30 days) or Paypal (under 180 days)
Thanks

should be interesting.
counting (https://www.ebay.com/sch/shanahan1414/m.html?_sop=16&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2046732.m1684):
6 cases of 2019 Heritage High Number @ $850-$950 (Ended April-May)
1 case of 2019 Five Star @ $1k (Ended May)
1 case of 2019 Topps High Tek @ $1100 (Ended June)
2 cases of 2019 Bowman Chrome @ $1500 (Ended April)
2 cases of 2019 Bowman Chrome HTA @ $1800-1900 (Ended June)
that's $13,000 outstanding on phantom cases alone.
ouch.

I dont get people like that.
1 paypal has to reverse it.
2 can face criminal charges when it gets big $$$ like that.

Rule #1: Don’t but pre-sale cases from eBay.

Odds are they are using a fake name for their Paypal and Ebay accounts and using public access computers making things harder to piece together. Or could actually be in another country which would make prosecution even more difficult. When Paypal reverses it the money and seller are gone leaving Paypal footing the bill.

the profile had been on ebay since 2010 though. based on their feedback, which was good and frequent, it's probably a seller that went out scorched earth style.

That happens as well. Haiku did it here. They know Paypal will eventually pay the buyers back and the likliehood of any criminal actions being taken are very remote.
