View Full Version : How has the new COMC No Rejections policy been working for everyone?

Now that COMC is putting cards in a condition bucket as opposed to taking crappy pictures of a couple cards and letting us know that they are not processing them without the seller paying more money....how is it working out for everyone?

I haven't submitted. What I wonder though is all the "condition noted" modern cards, are they going to ever move them into condition boxes, or only new ones as they come in. If that is the case, doesn't help with pricing cards until all condition noted cards are sold.

I have to laugh as I've seen people jack up the prices over the "non graded" ones, thinking that it's a bonus that they sit alone in EX-NM category and not a detriment.
My first submission will go out again since the change in the next several weeks. Honestly not really looking forward to it, especially with 10+ year old cards.

My last batch got there middle of July and so far I have not seen any, that could change as the ones coming p due are listed.

They say they are going to move the condition note cards into the new buckets, but to give them time. I reported a couple (mostly hall of fame rookies) and they told me to hang off until they can sweep them out themselves.
I think it's a good thing, overall. But as you note, there are many overpriced ones because the seller has to do extra work to see the raw bucket pricing.

My batch that ended today had a bunch of rejections (Declined Items - Eligible for Reprocessing). Not sure, but maybe that submission was still under the old rules(?)
I guess I'm still confused over the grading bucket portion.
I see some identical cards that have three different listings:
-no condition notes
-a (Mint) note
-a (Ex-Nm) note
Is there supposed to be a (Nm-Mt) one in between?
Also some of the cards listed with (Ex-Nm) notes don't have any condition notes listed. Aren't these cards supposed to have a note?

The standard buckets are:
Raw (should be NM-MT or better for modern or Ex or better for pre-1980 vintage)
[EX to NM] for modern
[Good to VG-EX] for modern, vintage
[Poor] or [Poor to Fair] for modern, vintage
The [MINT] bucket you're seeing is a Condition Review that someone paid COMC $2 to look at the card, evaluate it, but it in a cardsaver, and rescan the card. That's what gets the individual grade. You can see more of the Condition Review results in this thread:

If my comment earlier confused you, my apologies. I have since updated it to the correct bucket.

I think COMC needs better training on this for their own employees. I'm seeing a bunch of 1957 Topps baseball cards being given [Very Good-Excellent] buckets when they should be either raw or [Good to VG-EX]. The Very Good-Excellent bucket makes it look like they've been condition reviewed and COMC believes them to be equivalent to PSA 4 in condition. But since they're not in Cardsavers, they haven't been evaluated that way.

I am now seeing vintage cards being given [Ex to NM] buckets, when previously it was only for modern (1980s to now).
