I am thinking about purchasing my first case of baseball. My two options are 2010 Bowman Chrome or 2010 Topps Chrome to possibly get a Strasburg auto. I know with both of them I could either sell or send in the wrappers and get redemption packs to possibly get a Harper auto. Any suggestions as to what to get and why?

Honestly, I would avoid both. To send in 12 boxes worth of wrappers to Topps in hopes of the small chance of pulling a Harper auto shouldn't be why you get a case of Bowman Chrome. In Topps Chrome, I think the best redemption auto you could pull was maybe Posey. Personally, I would spend a little more and open Bowman Draft.

Why not make Bowman Draft an option?

Right now BDPP is a little bit out of my $ range which is why i'm leaning toward either bowman or topps chrome. Also I would be getting the case to have fun with the break as I have never got a case before, just countless boxes and packs through the many years of collecting, not just for the chance of getting the harper auto.

If its for the fun of it and you have to choose between the 2, I definitely say Topps Chrome. You can pull auto's of the big rook's from last year like Stanton, Heyward, Castro, Strasburg, etc. In Bowman Chrome, you might pull a decent auto but have to sit on it to see if someone develops.

buy half a case of bowman draft if $$ is the issue.

I second this. There's a lot less chance you'll be pissing away your money.

you can buy a Strasburg auto for less than a case...you stated that as your main reason for purchasing a case
