If it was made to the wrong address then there are a couple of scenarios. The address is a real account maybe not owned by the seller if so you will likely have to make a claim on the case. If the address is non-existent then there should be a way to cancel the payment on your end.

I actually misspelled my email address by one letter on a few auctions, had to cancel the transaction, relist the item to fix the email, and have the buyer buy it again. One letter can really make a difference

You likely need to call Paypal. If the money is just sitting in limbo, someone there needs to be prompted to return it.

Something similar happened to me a couple weeks ago. I gave a buyer an address with one incorrect character. After the buyer called PP, she got a quick refund, and was able to repay using my correct address.

The seller called yesterday and I was refunded so it’s all good. That said, I still don’t really know what happened. Thx for everyone for their input as always I really appreciate it guys !
