Trying to understand why the cracked ice is so much more expensive. Print run is close, sometimes 1 more champ ticket made and sometimes less. The championship ticket has a much longer history. Was it market manipulation, and then people ran with it? They look much better some years, but others they both look good. I can buy 3 to 4 championship tickets for one cracked ice of some players.

I think the cracked ice look better. Eye appeal is huge in sports cards.

Depends on the player I believe. You have set collectors on the cracked ice. Only team and player collectors on the 1/1s

Sometimes I get junk mail with a cracked ice sort of pattern on the envelope and it makes me smile. That said, cracked ice has been very popular in cards. It's like the /99 on steroids and even cooler than the 1/1's that don't have material too. The cracked ice tends to lend the sickness factor that a cool patch would give, but without the cool patch. More pleasing to the eye than a green , black or silver 1/1 anyday and all they have to do is use that designer junk mail pattern on the card.

Lmao I know what you’re talking about. Pretty sure it’s a credit card application.

They do look nice, but I would rather have a plain old nice looking card with an on card auto.. Must be done correctly though and a nice sig, that is eye appealing to me.

Aren't Ice usually #/25ish and most Champ Tickets #/49?

Ice just sparkles in your eyes. Anything that sparkles will put a smile on your face.

Cracked ice started at a print run of /20 in 2012 and the print run has increased by 1 every year. 2013 /21, 2014 /22, etc.
Now I believe in 2014 they also started doing a cracked ice for every variation as well at least for the on card auto rookies. So the /22 is actually three different /22 so 66 in total for each rookie bc their were 3 versions for all on card rookies.
The last couple years I think there have only been 2 variations of the base style with cracked ice but the have added other versions like clear ticket, 20th anniversary and so on.
