I think there are 440 count cardboard boxes, if not do the next larger size and stuff both ends with peanuts with the cards in between.

Yes. Tape the opening of course.

Agreed. I've seen people use folded up paper towels instead of the peanuts, too.

do you need to wrap the box or do you just ship it in the 440 count box

Put them in team bags, then leave them bouncing around an envelope.

Yeah, the smaller box the less likely it is to be damaged.
If it's easy to carry, there's no temptation to just drop it on the floor.
Make sure you squeeze the card with paper / paper towels and use some 'junk' cards as buffers in both ends to make sure nothing gets damaged.
Tape it up... I personally wrap it like a christmas gift with white paper to hide that it's a box of cards and write the address on top. And if the buyer wants to use the box afterward it's not all messed up with postage gibberish and stuff, always a nice gesture.

It does not cost anything to put it in a box.:p The boxes are about .50 cents and shipping should be around $7 with confirmation.:D

I usually use a box with peanuts as described above, then I wrap the box in bubble wrap and put it in a large padded envelope. Cards can get damaged if you just send the box with no other protection.

Depending on what you are shipping, you might want to double box. I have been shipping boxes of 330 card sets in the Flat Rate Priority Envelopes for $4.85 through paypal/eBay - free DC too. I think you can get your 400 in there too. Otherwise it might cost you $5 - $9 depending on where you have to ship. I think it costs me $8.80 to ship to HI from FL for 2 pounds/priority mail (being the max I think).

Like this?????
U probably should have asked about 2 months ago. Either way, like everyone else has said. Put them in a 500/550 count box, put filler cards on all sides of the box to protect and then make sure they are tight with packing peanuts. If it will, fit then put in a bubble mailer or wrap with bubble wrap and put in larger box securely.

Reminds me of a time my mom won an auction -- it was a porcelain item and the guy listed it all wrong. My mom won it for $40, and it should have been $300+. The guy didn't complain or try and cancel the auction, he put in in a box wrapped with 1 or 2 layers of bubble wrap.
Mind you this thing weighed about 12 pounds and was about 24" x 18" x 12". It was also in an oversized box so it had plenty of room to bounce around. Needless to say my mom recieved about 15 porcelain parts instead of 1 porcelain item.
Guy just said "oh well" and refunded her money. (This was before the days of DSRs).

I agree on double-boxing. That's how I would ship it.
