The Series 1 YG checklist is out. I like the Hughes boys checklist card. Any guesses on prices out the gate and what they settle in at? Any surprises? I’m surprised a little they saved Makar for Series 2.

That’s not a surprise but holding Makar until series 2 is. Series 2 will be better imo with those two plus Zadina, Brannstrom, Gusev, and Suzuki

My Favorite design so far has been 13-14 followed by 16-17.

These are nice but not even top five.

Aside from Hughes, who are going to be the rookies to get in series one? I typically get the local guys so Hirose from the Red Wings. I don't see any WMU broncos or MSU Spartans on the list.

Guarantee a ton of people will be buying Mikheyev and Sandin due to TML hype. Almost certain they will just end up at Luke Schenn or Steen prices years from now though.

You are correct, however time will tell which brother contributes more and makes a bigger impact for his team. My money is on Quinn for the 'Nucks.

Poehling will be popular. The Suzuki Canvas too.

S1 seems a bit underwhelming this year- I agree that S2 might kick it.

Are the prices for boxes good for now? The top rookies are not producing right now. I am concerned that boxes may fall after release and value is more in line with 17-18. Any thoughts?

I would OK with discounted boxes of UD1. I got a box of UD1 17-18 retail for 40CAD a couple of months ago and it was a fun break :)

Yup. And you can add Dach, Wahlstrom, Dobson, Hayton and Abramov to the list. Noah Gregor just played his first game for SJ also.

YG's drop naturally and his play is not helping his price.

Hes played pretty poorly this year statistically but I have been pretty impressed with him game/grind though.

Its amazing how much epack kills some YGs, 100qty of guys for under $1 each should be unheard of, but its not.

I know defensemen generally don't sell like forwards but does anyone think Quinn Hughes will have some staying power? He's been pretty spectacular/special to watch this season.

I think Quinn Hughes and Cale Makar are the best two of this release this year.

Hamilton sold decent as he was with the Bruins, with defenseman (YG’s in general) wait till the off season and even if he wins the Calder Trophy I don’t see the market for him going up, most likely it will diminish once all the Epack cards hit the market.

Most definitely as Epack has made what once was a desirable (and affordable) rookie just an average commodity. :rolleyes:

I still prefer my Young Guns for my Hockey Rookie PC, the day's of moving them for some form of a profit has made me think twice about even breaking Hobby boxes anymore.

He's a rookie, not every rookie has to be a top 5 player his rookie year to be avoid bust status. Give him more than 60 games, sheesh

I'm selling Jack Hughes, last top pick to have this bad of a rookie year was Patrik Stefen.
