Ugh, another one of my favorite players is going to Pittsburgh. James Neal is going to be an absolute beast in that system though, 40 goals is not unreasonable.
Niskanen is a decent player too, Dallas must think a lot of Alex Goligoski. This trade makes no sense on the Dallas side of the ledger unless they think AGog is the second coming to Sergei Zubov.

Pittsburgh is not done yet. Either Niskanen or Lovejoy will be on the move for another forward before next Monday.

Salary dump?? Maybe Stars wanna put themselves in position to make a decent offer to Richards. Has to be more to it, or I think Dallas got robbed on this one.

KMD you should just join the masses and be a Pens fan. I mean apparently we have all the players you like...
Your boys are making quite the tear lately though.

The masses of band wagoners?
Who would want to join that?
Don't be all so high and mighty...it wasn't too long ago that your franchise almost didn't even exist anymore...

While I'm going to miss what Goose brings to the table as an offensive minded D-man that can move the puck and set things up, I'm not going to miss all of the awful and ill-timed turnovers that he is prone to. He has the upside of a guy like Kris Letang, which IMO is a pretty damn solid ceiling. He needs to work on the defensive side of his game.
So I can see why Dallas would be willing to make a deal like this.
Deals like this build upon my thinking that King Shero is one of, if not the best in the biz at what he does. Picking up with a guy like Neal who can be a 85 point scorer on Sids wing and a defensive replacement for a guy who has a lot of upside but is terribly inconsistent on the blue line is a fantastic deal for the Pens.
I'm also sharing the feeling of Rob that Niskanen may be on the move again in the coming days. I also wouldn't be surprised to see guys like Dupuis, Kennedy, and Talbot on the trading block.

I know it's not easy to read sarcasm on here, but take it easy hater I wasn't being serious. No need to come out of the woodwork every time somebody brings up the Pens. Geesh.

Saw them shut out the Kings the other night at the coliseum. I'll stick with my team thank you very much.
Right now Al Montoya for nothing is looking like the deal of the year.

Yea after that 9-spot they put on the Pens and Moulson w/ that Hat Trick today, I'd say they are worth sticking with. 11pts out of a playoff spot, only 1 behind NJ, I wonder why there isn't as much talk about them as there is about the Devils.
Think they have a realistic shot? I'm too lazy to look up that "These teams are already dead" thread, but it'd be interesting to revisit that now that the Devils are no longer stuck at 19pts.
