A little bit sick right now...

Second time this has happened to me in Platinum group breaks. Last time it was the Dominique Wilkins Logoman Auto coming out of a case immediately after I stopped buying the Clippers. Tonight I bought the Wolves in five case breaks, #115-119. The only card I hit was an Andrew Wiggins patch /10 (they hit THREE Garnett autos for the damn Celtics). I had a chance at taking the Wolves in the next batch of cases but decided the chances were so low, and I'd had such rotten luck, so I should stop buying. In case # 123...

Honestly, my dream card. I'm happy for whoever hit it. But I'm not gonna say it doesn't sting a little bit.

Had the Wolves in cases 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 115, 116, 117, 118, 119. What are the chances it comes in 123. Argh.

Oh well. It's only cards.

Yeah. I'm sick about it, but also realize that it's a dangerous thing to always feel like you were *so close.* Like, I kind of was. But also, they've broken 124 cases now and I only had the Wolves in 10. Long term, I made the right call to stop buying in. Just wish I had made that call 5 cases sooner (or later...).

Will keep my eye on the markets, maybe I'll have another shot at it. Maybe I'll even be able to afford it eventually. Ha.

I feel it too Neil. Wondering if my day will come like most collectors. I was in case 120. Hindsight burns but you have to keep moving. The actual burn is it will end up in a deep pocketed collector’s vault collection. Rich get richer. I did get my first KG auto back in case 90 though lol

I feel ya... I was 1 box off of both the Trae Young logo NT auto and the Dwayne Wade NT logo auto on fire hands. Had the teams in the break right before those hit. Just about $50k I missed out on lol

the worst is when breakers dont have a schedule and will throw in a Random team case between a few PYTs and a big hit comes out of the random team break for the team you are holding in PYTs

Dropping out of a break and then going back after to see what they busted open is sort of asking for it, I wouldn't even want to know after dropping out of it.

This is not the same as dropping that happens here on BO. You pay upfront on a per case basis. He didn’t reserve Minny and then decide not to pay. He chose to not buy into subsequent cases and just happen to miss out. It’s just unfortunate happen stance.

Right, what I mean is sometimes curiosity hurts. But in the end he based the choice he made on the results he's had in the past, nothing wrong with that, you just never know.

ah yes, ive also been a "victim" to the platinum breaks unluck LOL. most memorable one was from flawless fb for ne pats. 2 team breaks back to back and available but due to high price, i chose the 2nd break. 1st break pops a randy moss 1/1 patch auto. 2nd break mine, jack crap.

Happened to me too, I know what you're feeling. Not to the extend of dual logoman, but I had LA Clippers from cases 28 - 45 looking for SGA, and then SGA 1/1 RC Auto pulled in case 47... :(

I mean if you buy into ALL the cases, you'll get ALL the cards! lol. Realistically, we all have to set a limit somewhere. I wouldn't feel bad about it at all. Luck of the draw.

T'Wolves are $109 per case on Platinum. Given there are only 20 cards per case... tons of teams end up blanked.

I don't know exactly what Platinum was charging per break, but probably around $100-125 for Wolves. A case of cards only has 20 cards total, so at least 10 teams are going to miss each time. With duplicates I'd say the average is about 15 teams missing out each break. A brutal gamble, but the payoff can be huge. There is no way I'd be able to afford buying a KG logoman outright so getting one is a group break is the only way I'd acquire one realistically.

From a fellow KG fan, I feel your pain OP :( I just hope that it went to an actual Wolves fan.

I just bought cases 127 - 138 of T'Wolves. Probably bad timing given that the dual logoman got pulled, but still a KG logoman auto, KG logoman, and KAT logoman that haven't surfaced yet :)

Oh, I know. I'm happy with my decision to stop. It was just tilting to watch them pull three Celtics KG autos in the 5 cases I had the Wolves, then pull the KAT/KG dual in the next batch of cases. I knew the risks going in, just needed to vent/share my breaking horror story. On to the next.

Nice. Good luck! There are plenty of great Wolves cards left. I think I'm out of breaking now that 2 of the big 3 (KAT Logoman Auto and Dual) have been pulled, but I hope someone here can hit the last one.

I binge on group breaks after DFS success, but I think I'm done with the current binge now.

Anybody know how much Plat is charging per case? I was watching a break and their filler added up to around $4,000. That doesn't include teams sold which included expensive teams like Hawks and Lakers.
