I'll make this one quick today (EDIT in Ron Howard's voice: He didn't). I was pretty sure Panini purchased this Mark Jackson jersey for some of their patches this year. They've had plenty of Jackson stuff, but I was excited because this was the first Pacers jersey they acquired.

As part of the auction, they claimed it was photomatched. I didn't want to go to the trouble of verifying that until I could actually match the jersey to the Panini cards first. I felt pretty good about the mesh holes lining up in a couple of pics, but I wanted to dig a little further still.

So I kept adding to this image throughout the year.

Two of the pieces here come from cards that I personally own. I like the "A" patch way more than the 1/1. Mark Jackson liked it, too.

I shelved the project for awhile because I figured Panini would use him in this year's Flawless jumbo patch set. They did not, so I took to eBay again to see if any other patches had shown up. I found this 1/1 (I do not own this, I'm only posting for reference).

This was the bottom of the first "n" in Indiana and contained a loose thread or two that pretty much sealed the deal for me. Now it was on to verifying the photomatching that someone else had already done. According to the Heritage auction, it was photomatched to a Pacers/Bullets game from March 27th, 1996.
Getty doesn't have a lot of Mark Jackson images from that season, but they did have a few from that game. What are the odds? Either all of the jerseys fray in the same spot, or I got a little lucky.

Like I said, it's possible that multiple jerseys frayed in the exact same spots, but not likely. Here's a jersey from a different game that does not show identical wear. This one has a much happier ending than my Ron Artest jersey search (https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1302852)!
