Not trying to pump up this product at all. In fact, even though I love the look of these cards (especially premier and courtside), I think it's its own worst enemy having 3 "base" sets. But that's what I want to chat about...

Why are the concourse level silvers selling for way more than premier level silvers?

Concourse: 100 card set
Premier: 100 card set (10 per box)
Courtside: 100 card set (2 per box)

In the last 24 hours (maybe the wrong time frame with Luka-mania)...
Luka Silver Concourse PSA 10 sold for $775 (PSA Pop: 51)
Luka Silver Premier Level PSA 10 sold for $375 (PSA Pop: 46)
Luka Silver Courtside PSA 10 sold for $900 (PSA Pop: 9)

They are all technically 'base' versions for this set but premier and courtside are far more rare and IMO just look way better.

Concourse and Courtside have background scenery from the game. Look nice. Premier doesn’t.

I just hate that the Courtside parallels have the checkerboard design. Looks awful compared to the Concourse. The Silvers used to have it, but Panini did away with that in 2016 I think.

pretty interesting discussion. I don't have much Select of any player, I agree with several of the points made but actually disagree on the Lukas in particular. I like the picture on Premier the best, it has the best view of his face and I like the blue uni against the silver background.

Oh yep! Good catch. The most recent courtside silver psa 10 was a month ago and it was $450 (seems like a steal now). You're right, though, that it would sell for much more than the concourse level silver now.

Really looking forward to Select this year. Loved it last year...fun break. Some don't like the 3 tiered base set, but I think they all look sharp. Not a huge fan of the die-cuts though.

The on-card autos are very nice.

IMO it's because Concourse was the only one before the 3 tiers and the one that has all the major rookies. Courtside is the one with the best design and rarer one. Premier is...the other one.

Wax (and everything Luka related) is out of control. Don’t buy any unless you can find some strays at SRP. Luka makes up like .5% of all wax yet the prices of boxes have doubled in the last couple weeks. Just wait for the frenzy to end, or never get your hands on some and be glad you saved the money. Also, if you have 4 of the same card already why do you need more?

Select has been growing in value the past 2 years. The Optic Uptick has people wondering what's next and many have decided it's Select.

* Courtside silver is more SP than ever the past 2 years. People have wised up to this and it's been harder to get these at a bargain like you could in the earlier years of the brand. Superstar veteran Courtside silvers can still be had at a great price considering the rarity.

* Premeire is the middle child for sure but IMHO is usually the best looking. It is an order of magnitude more rare than Concourse and pop reports will bear this out long term.

* Phenomenon silvers /99 are a hit. Probably the best prizm rookie insert across all Panini sets.

* Tie Dye /25 is the brand's signature parallel. A must have for any player PC. Zebra Stripe is polarizing but has won many strong fans.

* The Courtside level has had some fun sunsets. 14-15 Team USA was hot for a minute. 16-17 had the photos of megastars holding trophies.

* Chrome base RCs have historically been dirt cheap compared to Prizm. Luka/Trae and the Optic Uptic seem to have folks taking a second look for other players.

* Select is a strong brand in football. Mahomes XRC and Field Level are among his most key RCs.

Seems like the weird thing about Select football is not having every rookie in the concourse set... I don't think there's a 2017 Mahomes concourse rookie, just a premier and field level.

I don't completely agree. The die cut parallels look incredible. I like the die cuts the most out of the set. The base and silver don't look as good, i agree, because they're designed to be die cut.

Premiere's die-cut shield parallels are fantastic. Unique design and production technique among Panini's offerings.

You can pick up a team color numbered parallel, as well as black /1, gold /10, and tie-dye /25. Any of those choices (team color, black, gold, and tie-dye) catches my eye.

Without knowing the actual print numbers, I can tell you that it’s the same concept where the Field Level is significantly more rare than the Concourse. I’ve picked up a number of Mahomes Field Level Silvers as I don’t think people realized how low of a print run they are.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but Select was not always tiered. The first 2 years had 1 base set, but I think they wanted to try a Flair Showcase / Finest kind of format in 14-15 and it stuck. They switched the serial numbering of the color parallels at this point as well.

Why couldn't 1996 Finest last forever... Chrome technology, borders, Bronze, Silver/Uncommon, Gold/Rare and refractors of all. Love those cards in Football and Basketball, Baseball too, might have to start looking for some on ebay that I don't have.

Completely agree. Look at Optic for an example. There’s literally around 30 versions of the same card. If you count autographs, you’re over 40 versions.

PSA 10 Giannis is hovering around 900-1000 right now. I bought a ben simmons and Giannis on here for like $150 a couple years ago. Both graded 10. I owe someone a beer now! Lol

Select is by far my favorite basketball product to break, ever since it arrived in 12/13... has the auto and jersey/patch hits along with substantial value in the base and parallels. Rare combo to get both nowadays. Usually it's either a "hit" focused product, or a base/parallel focused product. Select has both.

yeah I guess, just depends how high those bid auctions go, I'd assume with a $299 BIN they'll all creep up around $250 but might take another round or two before they start hitting $300 regularly. I picked up a few during the summer, should be interesting to see how high they go in early May when he's dropping 40 pt triple doubles on the Hornets or whatever poor team is in the 8 spot
