Maybe that’s “book value” but probably not Cash value.
Sweet card though and I can see it pushing $400. If it was slabbed instead of RCR someone might go $500+ but it’s a crapshoot on that kind of card with big swings depending on the buyer pool at the time
Thx beware if anyone gets in the break

These multi-signed cards are tough sells. If you’re patient, you should be able to get 350-400. If it wasn’t sticker autos, it probably is a $500 card.

According to PWCC auction tracker, raw it has sold in the past for $350
Being #01 and a 9.5/10, I assume the card is right there at $450-500

So what kind of break were you in where this triple auto is the shittiest available card? What was the buy-in?
I think it's a pretty nice card- what did you miss out on?

1850 per spot. 10 spots per. Its a great repack product by Layton. Returns solid value per box.

I REALLY want a spot in an Almanac Break but it's just terrible timing for me, $$ wise. I've been watching them all wishing I was in them. BTW, I got 6 Christmas cards this season and one was from Layton! Good people there..

This is why I stopped buying from Layton consistently. Almanac used to be a fun, reasonably priced product, but no mas. They are a business and are in it to make money. I’ve seen them continue to up the ante with products and prices and go from a place where card collectors and guys who PC teams break to a heavy hitters club. To each their own.
Almost 2 grand for a spot in almanac is ludicrous.

LDS is being modest here on the forum...you guys should do some research before you talk negatively about a breaker.
Do some basic price searching on each card in these breaks. Every single case had about 18k+ in value. LDS did not make any significant amount on this product.
On average, spot 1 hit a $4k+ card, spots 2-5 made their money back, spot 6-8 hit a 800-1200 card, and spots 9-10 hit a 400-600 card.
This is a huge gamble. Sorry if the random.org gods failed you this time. A few very lucky people walked away with a huge profit!!

I am a customer of Layton and I did buy one spot in one break. I got pick 3 and made my money back most likely. The 2 cards ahead of mine were 6k and 4k. I think your thread is right on but maybe overstating the box value (and understating the profit) by a hair, but they deserve it with the time and cash outlay for doing a product like this. That said, this is WAY safer than busting regular wax and there was not a card in any box I would be sorry to own. I think people miss the point when they hear 1850 a spot and shut down.
His Bowman product was also awesome. To me he is the most trusted breaker out there.

Of course they should make a profit, why wouldn't they? It's a business.

I think Layton is one of the most reputable breakers. But they have changed and so have their products. If you think risking $1850 for an equal chance at a $300 card or a $6000 card is safe, then we don’t see eye to eye.
It’s not a knock on them, but with “no cards less than $500” printed on their websites and less than $500 value cards getting pulled, that’s a big no-no.
Save your money and buy the $6k Acuna. If you can afford to drop $2k on a chance for it, you can likely just buy it with a bit of time and restraint with zero risk involved in pulling a $300 card instead.

I think if you have that much better buying a card you want instead of a random chance

Realistically you are always way better off just buying the cards you want.
Breaking is a bit of an addiction- whether group, box or packs- and it's always a gamble.
Some of us just have more to scratch the itch with than others...
