View Full Version : 05 and 08 draft - redemptions - Question
I was looking at buying some boxes of 05 and 08 bowman draft, but I'm having some trouble finding out who the expired redemptions are in these products, couldn't seem to find much via google and searching the forums here. If there is a thread out there that I'm missing, or a website, I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. If not, perhaps some info. on redemptions in these products, and your experiences in dealing with Topps re: redemptions from these products (or similar), from what I've read I'm assuming the worse. It seems these products are still priced pretty high ($100-130 per box), so I would assume the higher end autos were not redemptions...I'd appreciate any and all input, thanks

Looking at my old scans 08 Draft expired 11/30/2010. Some redemptions I had were Inoa and Montero. Really sucks when products like this have redemptions since the players are a few years out.

If I were you I would stay away. Just buy the singles you like from those years. The redemptions are expired and from what I have read topps/bowman will not honor them at all. If anyone else knows differently. please post here. Thanks and good luck.

The only redemptions from 2005 were the AFLAC sets, none of the AUTO's were redemptions, so you're good to buy those boxes. I believe the reply above was correct, only Montero and Ynoa are redemptions, but if you pull a nice AUTO of card 1 or 1a in that set (Montero and Stanton are neck and neck), then that would really, really suck. Proceed with caution on the 2008.

Just pulled a Carlton Fisk redemtion from 2001 Archives. Talked to a Topps rep on the phone who basically told me it was expired (3/03/2003) and I was S.O.L.
I would just buy the singles.

Wilmer Flores was also a 2008 redemption

In my experiences, Topps is horrible about honoring expired redemptions. Just as sdnavarre said, I was also S.O.L.

Montero is a redemption in 08, so is Inoa, Flores and I forget the other one ... I would stay away though b/c if you pulled a Gold refractor Montero auto redemption and could not redeem it, that would just be awful
i'm glad they pushed the redemption expiration to 3 years out instead of 2 in 2010

Is there a website that anyone knows of that keeps track of when redemptions expire?

The posters got it right: Montero, Inoa, Flores. Pulled a Flores Redemption recently and called Topps personally. They would NOT redeem it, nor offer any compensation. SUCKS
Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the input. Looks like I might pull the trigger on the '05 and probably hold off on the '08, only because I've yet to learn how to rid myself of the insatiable urge to rip (is it even possible?), I know buying singles is the way to go and I do a lot of that too...but figured if I'm going to rip I want something with a decent return and obviously a lot of fun.
It's weird to me that '08 typically costs more today than the '05, must be mainly the Posey rc auto. Me personally, I'd rather rip a product that's loaded with a lot of solid base and autos than trying to hit that one money card.
Might be pushing my luck here, but what about 2005 Bowman Sterling in terms of redemptions?
