Pretty cool that sports cards are even in the top 20. Wish I owned something that awesome.

I wonder if that Brady is the buyback auto that DnT Sports pulled the old switcheroo on? You know, "Brandin Cooks #99" If so, I guess $400K is actually worth having your name turned to mud.

A lafer sold for $3 million. I could find a dozen other things that sold for 7 figures on eBay in 2019. Whoever wrote this is an idiot

Whatever happened to that guy? Is he still around the hobby?

This. I'm fairly certain there have been a ton more cars that sold for more than a base model 4 year old lambo (not even an SV or SVJ?). Not even counting the amount of 6 digit cards that 'sell' through PWCC seemingly weekly.

I found a laferrari and mclaren p1 that sold for 7 digits through just 2 minutes of casual browsing.

Article is garbage.

Incredible. Second only to a power lunch with Mr Buffett for 4.5m.

That Magic The Gathering MTG Black Lotus Card: $166,100 stands out as well.

I also thought that very interesting. I played and collected quite a few 90s CCGs...unfortunately MTG was not one of them!

To be fair, the original article states:

Today, eBay is releasing its annual ‘Most Interesting and Expensive Purchases’ of the year list, taking a look back at some of the most notable purchases of 2019

Makes me sick to my stomach when I think as a kid I had this card, and all the P9....

Sold in 2001 when I needed money to feed my family for $120....

Same here, pretty sure I had just about every MTG card from the first few editions in high school, sold them all for mostly nothing.
