Hi there,
I hope you guys can share some of your experiences with me. I have a bit of a collection of maily Basketball cards. Since there is not a real market for most of the cards here in Europe (at least when searched the sold items on Ebay) I will basically have to sell here on the US Market. Now I have 2 basic questions what I will firs need some clarity on. One is about grading , one is about "the confident US Buyers have of buying from European sellers and hence having to wait for a longer time for the card(s) to arrive.
My plan is to have most cards graded first (for Europeans PSA is easier than BGS due to the logistics). Or do you guys thing I should go for BGS?
But the main obstacle is the custom and tax. I will definettly offer "free sipping " on all cards. But I was wondering if any of you guys have ever purchased cards on ebay and what was your experience. How long did you wait, did you have to pick up the cards at the custom department and pay the tax? Was that an obstacle for you? Did you feel confident when buying from overseas (I have >500 100% posive feedbacks).
I hope you guys can share some of your experience with me.

You should look into COMC.com for selling your cards individually. They do all the work for you, and you price them. Selling them yourself hoping to get sales in the US will not get you maximum cash.

I want to sell all cards individually, however I understand that COMC does only offer auction style , and I prefer a fixed price on most of the cards, especiall for the graded ones. Would COMC even accept sellers from Europe ?
And why do you think would german ebay auctions (listed on ebay.com) not get maximum cash ?

COMC is predominantly a fixed price enterprise, having just added auction items through eBay this week. They have 20,000,000 cards for sale fixed price.
Yes, COMC would accept sellers from Europe. They have sellers from Canada, Australia, and all over the world.
I think that most US buyers would ignore items from Germany even if yours is the cheapest listed. Maybe I'm wrong, but those are my thoughts. Americans are trained to think that foreign sellers and buyers are scammers, so you're fighting an uphill battle.

I've bought cards from sellers in Hong Kong and have had no issues. The only difference that I saw was that shipping cost more (say $5-6 instead of $4) and it took a lot longer to receive the item. This latter is understandable though and I knew this up front because it showed in the ebay listing that I may have to wait 20 days or something like that.
Note you can input into your settings a longer handling time if necessary so that the expected delivery time frame on your seller listings take that into account and reflect it.
I've not had to pay customs or anything more than the usual albeit higher shipping fee.

I had also the fear that american buyers might have some holdbacks to buy from foreign sellers. I think I might do both... Sell some cards through COMC, just to try it out foirst and list some cards on ebay in Europe however listing on Dot Com as well. First step is to get all the cards graded first, sand that will take enough time to get to understand the "internazional aspect" of selling .
I would be interested if more users ever bought in Europe and what their experince was :-)

Hi there.... thanks for your thoughts. I am taking images of all the cards, should be done this weekend, but I will post them as soon as they are done.
Regarding COMC. Nice service, especially that grading feature, that you can grade through them. Its down right now, but when it will be back I will definettly concider it.
I do not really understand the main diffrent right now to PWCC but if I could sell through them, maybe that would make more sense.
Here is another batch:

Any cards in there what would make sense regarding grading and keeping? Please do not understand me wrong, I dont want to drain knowlege here. I did my research allready, but more eyes can see better, more opinion can be greater :-)
Thanks and have a great day everyone,
