Yeah the base autos have always been very short printed. This year doesn’t look any different. I have a Claxton too and I’ve seen about 10-12 on eBay. Wouldn’t imagine more than 15-20 per player, maybe less for some. They’re usually silver but they don’t have those this year apparently.

I watched the last two games in full and it couldn't have been a matchup issue. The only guy Sekou might have had trouble guarding was Thompson down low which Drummond was in the game and took care of that. Maker is probably thinner than Sekou so I would think their matchups would be very similar on defense with Sekou having huge upside on the offensive end vs Maker. Not really getting the selling of his cracked ice up to now. The first live of his went for $500 immediately. Then there has been a couple redemptions that people took $500 for. When his playoff to /99 is going for $100-$200 based on comps, and they are redemptions, I would say that is too cheap. Especially a live non redemption. I thought a live would be $1000 all day, if not more. Trying to decide if I am going to hold mine for a bit or not

I've certainly learned that lesson the hard way. I've realized that you are better off holding low value rookies becuase the upside is much higher than getting a few bucks. Don't feel too bad though.... I sold an AD rookie Prizm silver for $80 and used to put base rookies as extras in ebay orders....

I'd say a good comp was the Simons buzz awhile back after his ONE game performance late in the year. His stuff got pretty nutty overnight.

However, I think they're quite a bit different situations. One is an actual starter getting starter minutes, and has all the intangibles for a possible Siakam-like future. About the only thing they shared was youth.

He's scored in double digits in all but 1 game before being thrust into the starting lineup. 50 percent from the field and 42 from 3. I never really create threads for 'meh' prospects unless their scouting tape really stands out to me. Was really big on Rui...but honestly, Sekou's future prospects intrigue me as much if not more.

I suspect most will pull back once Zion returns and takes back the national spotlight.

It's easy to dismiss Sekou because he didn't have the glamorous hobby name coming into the draft and the Pistons, for the most part, have been unwatchable.

But he's been making a name for himself in the Euroleague for years now, and much like Doncic, has been playing grown men since he was a teen. I think that's a massive advantage and why he's had a fairly seamless transition to the NBA since being forced into the starting lineup.

He's got prototype size and length for a combo forward. People unfamiliar need to do themselves a favor and check the tape. Not saying he's going to be a bonafied superstar, but he's got some pretty impressive tools and checks off a lot of what you want to look for in a prospect with good potential. Same stuff I saw with Siakam before Kawhi came to town.

I think the fact he scored 24 in that Celtics game was kind of a bad thing as far as expectations from fans and himself. As you said, he's still just a kid. Not like he's gonna put up those numbers every night (yet). He's probably been in his head a bit trying to follow up that performance.

There are dudes that play long careers that could have never dreamed of touching 20 plus in their early rookie campaign. Ceiling is high. Floor too but c'EST la vie!
