I'm looking for a few things but I decided something fun to start doing.
Back story:
My mother-in-law passed away about 7 months ago unexpectedly. My wife and I decided that we would ask her father (John) to move in with us as he has cerebral palsy and we were worried about how he'd be able to handle living alone now as he doesn't get around very well.
He is a huge basketball fan, like me, so we sit and watch games together almost every night and he tells me stories about how much he always wanted to play but simply wasn't able to due to his health issues (which I can appreciate as my Crohns disease has taken me away from some things I wanted to do as well).
Now, to the point. John was telling me stories about how Pistol Pete was his favorite player when he was younger and how he met the Pistol's dad when Mr. Maravich was coaching at a school in West Virginia as that is where John is originally from. He just went on and on about how amazing the Pistol was and it was a lot of fun to see how passionate he was about his basketball stories.
It got me thinking. John has enjoyed hearing my "searching for Prizm" stories and told me how much he likes the looks of the cards... "especially the shiny colorful ones". So I think I am going to work on picking up the whole spectrum of Pistol Pete refractors, place them in top loaders and put them on card stands on a shelf in his bedroom. It may sound silly to some but I sincerely think it would make him happy and that thought makes me happy!!
So, I am sure I won't get the 1/1 - if there even is a 1/1 - but I am looking to pick up all of the colors I can get, even if it means multiples. I think it would be fun for him.
As for me - I'm still looking for some silver rookies but obviously trying to find them below Ebay. Bol Bol, Jaxson Hayes, Jarrett Culver and both second year and 2018-19 Michael Porter Jr refractors.
Thanks for taking the time to read that and if it was ;TLDR here are the cliff notes:
