EBay to cut 1,000 jobs, will buy Bill Me Later - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081006/ap_on_bi_ge/ebay_job_cuts)

SAN JOSE, Calif. - EBay Inc. said on Monday it will cut about 1,000 employees, reducing its work force by about 10 percent.

Nice now customer service will be 10% worse.

And buying bill me later, is ebay trying to buy up every payment option? What next they buy goggle pay thing?

Then they don't need as much in fees to pay employees now, right? ;)

Thats a kick in the junk to all us card sellers. Although, was she the one specifically responsible for the policy changes of ebay? I would think that it would be a board type decision.

Either way I would have refrained from mentioning Meg Whitman as a possible Fed Chief, there are a lot of eBayers who are real pissed off at her.

True, but what do you think the chances of them staging a revolt and not voting for McCain because of her? I'm not so sure that he knows that ebay is f'ing over its users, he probably just got the numbers stating how many people sell/have sold on ebay. Maybe 4-5 years ago she would have been a great choice for the post, but if she has had any part in gouging sellers on her site, then she shouldn't be in any form of governmental athority.

She's perfect for government...with ebay she's gradually (very loose term) raised rates and told sellers tuff sh**...why not raise taxes on Americans? I can easily see the "tuff sh**" comment repeating itself!

Good point, we all hate ebay but what do we do? We continue to use it, the government continues to screw us, but this is still a great country. Until Ebay or this country really screws up, they can continue to stick it to us.
