He's not a Patriot, he's THE Patriot. No matter what he does with another team, he will be the legendary face of that franchise for good reason. Legend!
BTW, I do not think he'll play for anyone else. Simply my opinion.

Gary Tanguay is the laughingstock of Boston media, and all these reports trace back to him. He is also reporting that a couple years ago, Bill Belichick inquired about the Redskins job. Yes, that’s right, in the middle of the recent 3 Super Bowl run NE has enjoyed these past 5 years. we’re supposed to believe Bill Belichick tried to get the *Redskins* job.
I don’t think Brady is coming back to NE because I don’t think Belichick wants him at the dollars it will cost. But Tanguay’s report is nothing but sad sack clickbait.

I don't see him going to CA. If he goes anywhere, he will elect to go to somewhere with no state income tax. Florida, Miami Dolphins makes the most sense. Tons of cap space plus he can reunite with one of his former coaches and Alex Guerrero.

While he is obviously going to want to be paid reasonably fairly, he has never been about money and there is no indication that has changed. He has always been about championships and legacy.

It will be a sad time. tears will be shed, violins will be played, condolence cards will be sent. In my case i'll barricade myself in my room and avoid everything and anything except food for months on end. If I ever do leave my room, i'll go to a cliff and peer over debating whether to jump. By then I will have no more tears as it will all have been spent.

Agree here. I think he's doing everything possible to force Kraft/Belichick into bringing in some weapons on offense. He'll stay for two more seasons OR maybe leave if he wins another 'ship next season. Best coach of all time, great defense (that was made to look better by a historically weak front-end of the schedule) but they desperately need an upgrade at WR/TE.

From a source who knows Tom Brady, I was told that he is headed to the Chargers and had already set things up for Antonio Brown to join him there.
This would give the Chargers a seriously high powered offense.
QB Brady
HB Gordan and Ekeler
WR Keenan, Antonio, Mike Williams
TE Hunter Henry
OL solid...Rivers was sacked 34 times. They could pick a couple guys up in FA
The defense has quite a bit of potential with a great defensive line.

i don't buy any of this story...if anything, Brady is probably still upset that he never got the offensive help he wanted/needed, especially knowing the defense he had.
i honestly don't know if they would have beaten Baltimore, but they would have given KC a heck of a game for sure, they almost/should have beat them in the regular season, refs blew that non-td to Harry.

He's 42 (almost 43). He's done everything in his Professional career that he could have ever dreamed of.
Maybe he wants to do something more fun than the "Patriot Way" even if that's how he's won SB's before.
People are making this way too complicated. Maybe he's just an old man that wants to do something different, or play somewhere different (and warmer), before he actually retires.
It doesn't have to be some giant conspiracy against New England or Bill.

People are making this way too complicated. Maybe he's just an old man that wants to do something different, or play somewhere different (and warmer), before he actually retires.
It doesn't have to be some giant conspiracy against New England or Bill.
He doesn't even take part in/barely contributes in the preseason stuff, right?
Sure, he could be looking for a new challenge. He's obviously highly competitive. But from a football perspective, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to start over.

No clue.
But sometimes people just want to do something different. If he was doing this 10 years ago at age 33? Maybe I'd question it more because you have a big window to win Super Bowls.
If a 43 year old wants to play in Vegas for a few years? Or hang out in Tampa with Bruce Arians throwing the ball to Evans and Godwin? Or cruise Broadway in Nashville?
Good for him.

Yes.
Colts line is better. But they need to bring back Costanzo. They have the same problem the Patriots do; no receivers, with their best one having trouble staying healthy. 607 yards led the Colts last year. It was Zach Pascal. Patriots obviously have a much, much better defense.

What are you talking about? She's been making runs to NY for years now for one thing or another. She is still very involved in that side of the business even though she doesn't personally model any more. Can she phone it in from anywhere in the country? Maybe, but why? This is NOT old news and the reason why they've kept homes in MA, CT, and NY. They've mentioned this on the sports shows on multiple occasions. It makes perfect sense for the couple and it's not going to be a factor that Brady will dismiss in making his final decision.
I can't believe how big of a story this is. The guy is the goat, but he's also 43yrs old at the start of the season. At some point you gotta good bye and start looking towards the future. He should have retired on top after SB 53 if you ask me.

Giselle is not punching the clock everyday. She doesn't run a muffin shop on the corner of Broadway and 7th.
If it means her old man can walk out of Bill's shadow, and make a winner out of a loser all on his own, I think she will be fine for 6 months out of the year.
Remember, he is not asking for a long term deal. A couple more years. I'm sure they can work around that.
And I would not be shocked if Brady got the Marino treatment. No need to be with the team 7 days a week, or to have to be at every single practice. He can skip some camp or practice to fly "home". Just as his family can fly to see him.

He had no running game and his O-line is among the bottom half of the league. Plus he just had lasik surgery to correct his near-sightedness, so I wouldn't bury Winston six feet under just yet. After all he did lead the league in passing yards last season, which turnovers or not, is still a worthwhile achievement.
All I'm saying is that although a lot of his mistakes were on him, certain aspects of his game would be correctable in the right system.

No way he goes to Dallas. Dak is getting tagged if they don’t come to a long term deal.
Dallas tagging Dak wouldn't do anything to stop them from signing Brady as Dak wouldn't be signing that tag right away because if he did he couldn't leverage a holdout for a new contract.
So they could very well tag him, work out a deal with Brady, and then pull the tag from Dak or work with him on a sign and trade.

Why? For what reason? And after 20 years of going after QB's that protect the ball? Makes zero sense. I really, really, really doubt it.
Mariota would make some sense as a backup. Though I have my doubts about much of what comes out regarding the Pats media wise, I'd buy them being interested in Mariota as a backup way before I bought them being interested in Jameis as a starter.

Belichick is not the type of coach to have a “gunslinger”. Those types of QBs make a lot of exciting plays, but they also make a ton of errors (sack/interceptions). Belichick’s coaching philosophy is there’s nothing wrong with an incompletion and punt.

I love Brady and everything he’s done for my Patriots, but he’s hardly the QB he was even three years ago. Yes, he didn’t have great weapons but there were a lot of under and over thrown balls this past season. He’s not the Tom Brady of old.
If he leaves, it’ll be sad but it’s probably time to move on and rebuild with a young QB.

BOLD PREDICTION:
The COLTS sign Tom Brady to a 2 year deal as the starter ( their offensive scheme would fit him VERY well, plus they actually have a good front line, and a ton of cap space)
The COLTS then trade up to the #1 pick from #13 and draft Joe Burrow to sit 2 years behind Brady. The Colts give up the #13 and #34 overall picks this year and first rounder next year. They use their second 2nd round pick this year and draft another wide receiver.

he actually looked pretty good in preseason, and the Pats did invest a 4th round pick in him.

I can almost guarantee that Bridgewater or someone with a similar skill set will be brought in to start for the Pats. I just don’t believe that Belichick would roll with an unproven 4th rounder the year that Brady leaves. He’s going to want to prove he can win without him, and I don’t think Stidham is the guy to help him out.

They will bring in a veteran qb for sure but it's not as simple as handing over the keys right away. Whoever they bring in is going to compete with Stidham. Whoever wins starts and if it so happens to be stidham and he struggles, the veteran will take over.
But to clear cut say stidham isn't starting? Nonsense.

The COLTS then trade up to the #1 pick from #13 and draft Joe Burrow to sit 2 years behind Brady. The Colts give up the #13 and #34 overall picks this year and first rounder next year. They use their second 2nd round pick this year and draft another wide receiver.
How long do the Bengals laugh before they hang up the phone on that awful offer?
Andy Dalton is the next great Pats QB

The Browns are really dumb... and still able to get #8, #77, #100, 1st Rounder, and 2nd Rounder for the #2 pick in 2016...
Even the Bengals aren't dumb enough to take #13, #34, and a 1st Rounder for the #1 overall pick

They are really dumb at picking players.
Just think of how ridiculously dumb the Bengals would have to be to take that Colts trade if the Browns were dumb taking that Eagles trade where they got way more assets to waste

Don't know why you are still talking about it, Baker has more of a shot at throwing zero picks next year than that trade happening. Guy was drunk when he posted it.

The Titans reportedly are using Tom Brady as leverage to "lock in" Ryan Tannehill.
..
I just can't imagine a scenario where Brady (and Tannehill) aren't back with the same teams.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of it. A team/HC will basically have to mold an offense around Brady for 1-2 years if he chooses to go there, which could be mortgaging their future. Like I've said before in this thread, I don't know a team in the league who is just one 43-year old Tom Brady away from Super Bowl contention. LA or LV may do it just to sell tickets. It will just be such a shame to see him go the Montana, Namath route wearing another jersey for a couple mediocre years. More dignified to "go down with the ship" if you will. His best chance of winning is likely in NE where he's comfortable IF they can get him some weapons.

It can certainly be argued that a modest upgrade at QB could be the difference between a SB win versus a SB loss for San Fran.
It could also be argued that a huge upgrade at QB would bring Tennessee to that next level as well.
The Chargers would definitely do it to sell tickets/PSL’s. The Raiders are sold out so they don’t need to do it for that reason.

MEDIOCRE!!!

Montana took KC to the AFC Championship game in his first season at KC and beat the 49ers in his second season (SF won the SB that year), and he beat Elway in one of the best Monday night games ever, so i wouldn't exactly call it mediocre at all.

It depends on which reports you believe. I heard one report this week that the Patriots are just not going to offer him much in terms of money, but who knows if that’s true...
Everyone is targeting this Wednesday (the 18th) as the day we will find out.... but now watch them delay free agency and make us wait even more...

i'm really starting to think that the Patriots are ready to move on from Brady.
they saw the success that JimmyG had and are looking at the 49ers being set for the next 5 years with him under center, and they are looking at their situation as being a little bit uncertain.
yes, they drafted Stidham, but he has to go through the learning curve, he's not going to all of a sudden be Tom Brady 2.0
but that's just me.
i think Brady lands in either LA or TB right now if he doesn't go back to NE.
Brady isn't going to TB. If I had to bet now, I say he stays in NE.

Outside of the Chargers and the Buccaneers, are there any viable destinations left? I can’t imagine he would want to play for one of those franchises rather than the patriots if he truly wants to win now. If he goes to one of those teams, it was clearly about pride and money, not winning

get this feeling that the Patriots are ready to move on from Brady and start a new chapter with either Stidham or bring in a vet like Bridgewater.
