Best Looking (cheap) Set?

So I took my nephew to the card shop today and I've been trying to get him into cards for awhile. He's 10 and knows a ton about Mahomes and whatnot, but the shop didn't have any Mahomes I could afford, so I bought him a Tyreek Hill rookie and he is absolutely obsessed with the shininess of it lol.

So, I was looking to get him some cheaper cards that he would love, some that look shiny or have that Optic chrome look like the Hill. Does anyone know of any sets that might be eye catching for a kid his age? He was so excited the last 10 hours with this card and won't put it down. I don't have much money, but his birthday is coming up and I'd love to get him a few Mahomes cards to really make his day.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to assume the answer will be some prizm parallel but I'm curious to see what the board says

Well, at this point you probably won’t be able to get any Mahomes RC stuff, especially if he wins the Super Bowl. Phoenix is a lower end product than optic but still has the shine. Prizm is probably the go to but you will also be paying a premium for those. I think I would go with Phoenix, but some low end Prizm parallels would also work well. Hope this helps!

If you want Mahomes and RC the 2017 Optic AKA insert is about 40 bucks.

I've opened a bunch of cases of Rookies & Stars from 2017 over the last few weeks and really only want Mahomes and Watson so if you want any of the base or inserts, you can have them for the cost of shipping. It's not shiny though except for 1 or 2 of the insert sets.

Absolute Memorabilia retail is pretty affordable and shiny if you're just looking for something current to open, you could pick up some Dollar Tree packs of it. If it has to be 2017 and you don't mind college uniform the Mahomes Elite Draft Picks card is shiny and fairly cheap.

That's true. Only a matter of time before those draft picks go up. Can't believe another site still has them for $149 a box with 5 autos per box...Was gonna buy a few before I saw the auto checklist but still not a bad option.

2019 Prizm football retail in Target/Walmart is as cheap and shiny as you can find these days. Blaster boxes $20 and value packs $10.
Everyone has already bought all the basketball stuff, but you should have no trouble finding football.
