My son came home a bit ago, he'd been shopping at Marshall's department store. He said they had a bin with packs of cards for a $1.00 and $1.50. He bought all of the football packs but said there was hockey and racing still left.
He bought 14 packs of 2019 Donruss Optic ($1.50) and 4 packs of Playbook ($1.00).
I figured he'd wasted his money and they were going to be just base cards.
I was shocked at the results.
Playbook was kind of blah but he did pull a green foil parallel of Trace McSorley numbered 5/25.
The Optic was pretty darn good though.
10 base rookies, Rookie silver prizms of Hakeem Butler and Trayveon Williams, Rookie Bronze prizms of Bryce Love and Mike Edwards. 250 points card, redemption for a Bronze Prizms of N'Keal Harry auto and a jersey card of Christian Kirk.
Not bad for $25.00.
I never imagined Marshall's carrying sports cards.
Just a heads up in case there's a Marshall's around you.

Thank you!

I'll check my local marshall's this week.

Then I'll check every gas station in town:D

If Marshalls carries them then might want to check Ross, TJ Maxx and Burlington.

I don't know which surprised me more, the fact that Marshall's had them or that the packs weren't too bad.
Granted, nothing earth shattering but not bad either.
I know there's been many times I've dropped a lot more money at my hobby shop and walked away with much less in return.

I keep hearing about Dollar Tree packs also. They put a new one in around the corner from my house but my wife has refused to go in there... might have to sneak in on the way home from work.

Does your wife rock a Goyard bag, Saint Laurent Shoes and Gucci sunglasses?

No, thank God. I'm not sure what her deal is.

It sounds odd that she won't go into a Dollar Tree. I wonder if she thinks there are not any name brand products? There is definitely alot of junk but also there are alot of great deals, even on name brand products. Stuff you spend $2-4 for at a grocery store or a Walmart you can get for $1. And its a must if you are going on vacation and need travel sized items. They also sell grabbers in the hardware section that are better than some $20-$30 ones that are sold. Convince her to go and pick up some packs of cards for yourself!

The optic sound like packs from an Optic collector box which is $60-70. I want to say there might have been a $50 Walmart version with less packs and one less hit (no orange numbered hit)

What section in Marshalls had them, up front or in the sports area?

KevinMy son said they were in the back of the store and to the right facing the rear of the store. I went up later that day because I was curious what racing and hockey packs they had, and I never found them. They were moving things around in the store a lot that day but even after I asked no one seemed to know anything about them.
No offense to Marshall's, but that store is one big cluster fork to begin with.
Sorry I couldn't help you more.

I've never seen these locally but unfortunately, in this area, having anything like that in the back of the store would mean automatic theft. Even the card sections that sit right by the registers in local Targets often have open packs strewn around :(.
