2010 Bowman Platinum REF question

I have bought multiple packs of BP as well as won an ebay auction on some Sano card/ref lot. Now some of the ref are thin stock (regular) while others are thicker.

Is the thicker refractors just another ref insert set? How do your differentiate between them. I have 4 Sano ref 2 are thin, 2 are regular all are /999.
