2017 Panini Chainmail Armor

Does anyone know what the odds are of pulling a chainmail armor card from 2017 Panini? What about the rainbow, silver and other variations? Trying to figure out how badly I want to add the various Mahomes variations and in what order. Can’t find anything out there detailing this...

Based on the 16 and 17 blasters I opened this past fall, it seemed like per blaster (10 packs), you would get roughly:

0.5 Chainmail
2-3 Holo
5 foil
I think there was 1 green /199 per box (looks like RC greens were /199 and vets /399)
Autos were probably 1 in 5 (or more blasters)

The difficulty is I don't know what the drops were for other configurations. I think fat packs had 2 foils per pack and I'm not sure if there was a retail box or gravity type pack.

I bought a single lot of 24 loose packs and got one chainmail.

I was going to buy a Mahomes chainmail earlier in the year, but every one seemed to be a potato cam pic of only the card front. Either that or they would get shilled and immediately relisted.

So I just bought a plain foil and called it a day.

I remember debating the same thing. Ended up just getting a few of the Red Knights /49. Look awesome with the team colors and I'm sure they'll skyrocket at some point.

Love those as well, was too rich for my blood by the time I wanted to pick one up.

I feel it's a shame they kind of tanked the set in 2018. In 2016 the base were very nice with team color borders, and they looked great in the foils. In 2017 the base were pretty fugly, but the foils and color parallels were not bad. In 2018 I suppose the base were OK, but the parallels were just foil stamps with 0 eye appeal added.

Appreciate the detailed feedback. I have been trying to round out my Mahomes rookie PC, but haven’t tackled this set yet. I saw one sell for $180 tonight, though the rest are sitting in BIN listings at $300 - $900 plus for raw versions, which I just don’t get. Haven’t seen a raw one transact for more than $180 yet, so was wondering what I was missing...

The 100 might have been a corner ding one iirc. The plain foils were around 40-60, but were readily available. There were also a ton mislabeled as wrong parallel, usually the plain foil being labeled holo or chainmail.

Yeah when I was in the market in mid-late Oct, they were listing between 100 and 150 BIN, but they didn't list all that frequently. The 100 might have been a corner ding one iirc. The plain foils were around 40-60, but were readily available. There were also a ton mislabeled as wrong parallel, usually the plain foil being labeled holo or chainmail.

Just picked this chainmail up. Am still looking to pick up a couple of the other foil versions (missed one yesterday)
